Some user friendliness in the user sign up process is good. I suggest that you read the thread again.

I understand where you're coming from (4.1k posts this month is quite impressive, you clearly like it here).
This is my third account, so I don't disagree that the UX is not great.
I think that onboarding people into .social is contrary to good decentralised practice. Where are the extra moderators coming from? With so many users, Mastodon.social _already_ had complaints of bad moderation.
This looks guaranteed to lead to it's defederation.

_We_ are the algorithm. Boosts, replies and favourites make posts appear in trending.
When we # posts, #Hashtag_Lore say, we let other people find it, alas not across all servers.
When we boost, people in our timezone see it.
When we reply, people may see an interesting conversation and stick their nose in.
And liking is a trend push and also is nice to get. "Good Post!"
There are boost groups too like @noun @a.gup.pe (no space) which boost anything they're tagged in!

For a modern society where people move for short term contracts or as part of going where the jobs are, a rental market is good actually.
I've moved several times and wouldn't have been able to afford a home.
The totally unregulated pricing and out of hand slum-lordery of the majority of landlords is real bad money driving out good.

I see announcements like this frequently. The longer the (non dictionary) password the safer it is (T&Cs apply).
But when I create an account I'm _always_ asked for 8-12 characters, must include a number blahblahblah. Which is hard to remember and less secure!
The only account I've had where I can do this is Steam!
It doesn't matter what PSA you do, the public do not set the password policies!

Password managers don't work for me. Neither does having a separate physical key to manage. There are too many scenarios in my life where I would end up locked out permanently or the consequences of not being able to get in are too catastrophic.
