Well, that's progress I guess...
Seldom seen Buran / AN-225 video from Vadim Lukasevich.
See alt-text for full information.
Rare video - the second speed run of "Mriya" with "Buran" on PC OK (the landing complex of the orbital ship) at Baikonur on May 12, 1989.
I've decided to have a go at an Ed Valigursky spherical moon lander.
I was sad to hear that Glen Baxter died recently... I've long had a soft spot for his gentle weirdness.
Art by the great Soviet Space Artist, Andrey Sokolov.
I'm struggling to understand the vehicle design!
More progress with the Ed Valigursky Red Sphere Spacecraft.
Nearly done modelling...

Brilliant article analysing the insane rate at with Sora was losing money.
"$15M/day in peak compute costs (analyst estimate) vs. $2.1M total lifetime revenue."
And:
Disney learned about the shutdown less than one hour before you did.

Some great photos from The Guardian here.
Reaching for the stars: enduring symbols of Soviet science – in pictures
The photographer Eric Lusito takes us on a scientific journey through space and time in a book on Soviet scientific institutes

Almost immediately after his space flight, Gagarin travelled abroad. Czechoslovakia was the first of 27 countries he visited on a goodwill tour.
if I have a LITTLE time for personal work, I'll often do something abstract, that I can complete in a couple of hours...
Here's the latest example!
I think I'm going to rework it at higher quality, and make it loop properly.
Done in Lightwave 11.6
Gamma rays on!
Yobba rays on!
Working on a Mars crewed rover for a customer. This is based on a mesh I bought at Daz.
Two precious documents from Vadim Lukashevich
I have attempted to clean up, enlarge, and translate them
I use Proton for privacy in Email and also their online storage to share files. (Which replaced Filemail after they tripled their prices).
I've just tried their video call tool, Proton Meet.
What really struck me is that it is better BECAUSE it has less features. It just works.

Edge rendered animation of the Hubble Space Telescope.
This shows a proposed nuclear version of Soyuz, with 6 boosters to lift the heavier nuclear core above the atmosphere.
With 6 boosters you get a Korolev star instead of a Korolev cross!
All by me, in #Lightwave3d
An old video of mine, Edge Render of the Energia M rocket, (Baby Energia)
All done in #Lightwave3d
Video showing the testing of the fairing ejection for the Soviet N1 Moon rocket.

Lots of video in this one. N1, Buran, Mars 87, Space Suit Testing, and more!
The other day I mentioned Propton Meet, and how I preferred it to Zoom for having less features and keeping it simple. Plus way better privacy.
I was wrong about it being part of the package though I'm on the free version!

And still way better than Zoom.
I think the modelling is done on this Ed Valigursky design.
Though the surfaces will need adjusting for a final scene.

Legs and engines do not animate, though I have it set up for versions with either or both retracted.
A more hard nosed assessment of Artemis 2.

And I have to say, I think he's right. The science achieved was tiny.
