The sad truth is people who make a living on line need to monetize attention and to do that you have to sell out to soul sucking corporate surveillance capitalism. Its a faustian bargain. Every method of propulsion must expend propellant to have something to “push” against, this includes fusion, plasma, ion propulsion, even photonic propulsion. The same equation applies

What I meant is it applies to any spacecraft as long as the propellant is carried ON the spacecraft, not just chemical rockets. Its also difficult to decelerate. A solar sail will work but laser powered sail propulsion only works to accelerate

No one needs that much money anyway it’s obscene. And we can tax wealth held in the united states including property and ownership of US businesses , corporations or stocks, even if they don’t reside in the US or renounce their citizenship

@johannab I see what you are saying and you do make a compelling argument. Maybe allowing single sign in with google or (god forbid) facebook has its uses. But also, someone can read your posts and profile without signing in, they just can’t reply. So you could make a simple one click sign up which would use an external authentication service. Not a terrible idea, but the idea of someone using a facebook ID to sign in to Mastodon does turn my stomach
