Updated the cover a teensy bit.
Zine on book banning happening in schools across America and how it's tied to the political agenda of the far-right.

Protect public libraries at all costs.
Contrary to what conservatives believe (that a library is just a "homeless shelter") libraries are community touchstones that are rich with knowledge and resources.
They are the last place one can visit to simply... exist.
Protect. Them.
... but, how lucky are we to live here? ❤️

The #Moon is full.
Giving thanks to Mother Earth for all our tomatoes and produce. 🌕 ❤️
There's this quote I ran into recently in a book, about sommeliers of all things, and it resonated:
*Fear and worry is the heart of failure.*
(The quote is from a book called "Cork Dork".)
Don't have medical insurance?
When you receive the bill for medical services *do not pay it* immediately. Go to the hospital's website & look for a tab that says "Financial Assistance" -call the phone number provided.
Have your "guarantor" or patient number ready along with the invoice number.
Say "I do not have insurance & received this bill. I'm willing to pay the amount in full this week."
My hospital gives a 20% discount + a 15% discount for a "quick pay".
The American flags up and down I-5, between here and Canada, are at half mast.
I guess it's something all of Americans can agree on right now: Dolly is a sweet soul and deserves the respect.
RIP 🖤
Can someone send a list of things we *can* eat?
Am thinking our front lawn may be the only safe vegetable to eat since it's not being recalled at the moment.
Need to rewatch this movie...
(Song still resonates also!)

Today is August 18, 2026.
It is day 172 of the war the U.S. started with Iran.
And now Trump is threatening to bomb Oman. His bravado is getting beyond off the rails.

And, now, they want $88 billion dollars to help fund the war in Iran.

From a zine I made in 2022 entitled, "She's A Shooting Star" 💅🏼
(Still feel the same.)
*Warning: This blog post discusses domestic violence, emotional abuse, and intimate partner relationships.*
"When we don’t share our stories, the abusers win because they essentially stop the flow of information regarding their actions and they’re able to continue the monstrous cycle of hurting others."

Don't you just *love* Mastodon? ❤️
Henry David Thoreau may be my hero. What a rebel(!)
Am looking forward to reading "Walden and Civil Disobedience"
"The French government is pressing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to release the 86-year-old French widow of a military veteran from immigration custody after she was detained earlier this month."
+++ Please, if you are not American *do not come here*. I don't believe it's worth it right now. +++

It's starting.
It's that season where you walk into any store and see American flags - and the flag on *everything* from fans to socks.
I'm embarrassed for us.
Sending all the positive thoughts to... everywhere right now. 🌍❤️✨ #artemis #iran ... #allThePlaces
"American artists have always had a really interesting way of ridiculing war, and that’s always fascinated me in their work,” said Ghazaleh Jahanbin, a Tehran artist visiting the show.
“Maybe part of it, I don’t know, comes from their geographical distance from war itself.”

@CorvidCrone the alarming part of all of this is that they're labeling anyone who is against this administration as a "terrorist".
More people can be executed at once via firing squad.
I don't want to do the math here...

@weatherwest@mastodon.social it was 80 degrees here in Seattle area in April which is very unusual.
"Texas bans 10,827 book titles from prisoners, including The Color Purple, Alex Cross, and ‘Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky.
Banned categories include books that facilitate an escape and criminal schemes; demonstrate how to manufacture weapons, explosives, or drugs; incite violence; and contain nudity or sex."
