Yes, Labour have had big losses.
Yes, so have the Tories.
Greens were up, as were the LibDems.
And yes, Reform made some gains too.
Thing is, after it's all done, the actual number of Reform councillors is tiny. Yes, really. They mostly gained at the margins. Their vote percentage was actually DOWN on the last elections.
It's frightening how many people voted for the racist right, but we'll all survive.

PS This demonstrates why the UK urgently needs to move away from FPTP to a proportional system. Far too many councillors won on tiny margins.

First Mandelson and now Doyle, people are attacking Starmer and Labour because of who the two were friends with. There's no accusations that Mandy or Doyle partook of pædophilia or supported it, or even definitely knew of it, so at what point does it become an issue, and should it even be one?

Over many many years I've been friends or acquainted with many hundreds of people. I've little idea what most of them do in their private lives. I'm aware that a few have served a prison sentence but whether others also have I don't know. "I am not my brother's keeper" etc. so does the fact that ex got done for kidnapping and gun crime mean that I should be automatically considered suspect? We each only see a window onto the lives of others.

I was the European-based manager for a USA based global Fortune 300. I did a *lot* of flying and hotels. I realised my expenses hadn't been paid in a while so calculated just how much was outstanding. Around £6000! So told my boss (the CIO) that I was going nowhere until they were paid. Paid two days later. I quit a couple of months after that, which sent the share price falling the same day and the company went bust six months after.
