I made a list of websites that offer royalty-free, human-made images for your blogs and social media posts. I’ll keep the list updated over time. Use these images instead of #AISlop! No more excuses! Please reply with additional sites and I’ll add them to the list. #AI #NoAI #art #images #publicDomain #royaltyFreehttps://humancode.us/2026/08/28/royalty-free-images

From January: What do Sam "The Falcon" Wilson, Scooby-Doo, the Earth-2 Superman, and Sauron (the "I want to turn people into dinosaurs" guy) have in common? They all should've entered public domain this year under their original copyright terms, but didn't. https://www.diversetechgeek.com/cartoons-public-domain-2026/ #comics #animation #copyright #publicdomain

2️⃣/2️⃣ The Jules Rimet Cup crowned football's greatest champions from 1930 to 1970. After Brazil was awarded the trophy permanently, it was stolen from the Brazilian Football Confederation's headquarters in 1983 and has never been recovered, making it one of sport's greatest unsolved mysteries. #WorldCup #FootballHistory #SoccerHistory #ArtDeco #PublicDomain #OpenAccess

Happy 55th Birthday, Project Gutenberg! Let's celebrate!🎉 Project Gutenberg was founded on July 4, 1971, when Michael Hart typed the U.S. Declaration of Independence into an early internet-connected computer and shared it with friends, making it the first digital text — though its official posting date is recorded as December 1, 1971. (And happy 250th, USA.) The Declaration of Independence at PG: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1 #ebooks #publicdomain
