👻 After three visits, I still get goosebumps as I push open the heavy doors and step inside once more. This spectacular control room was built in the 1920s in Art Deco style. Natural light enters through an immense central skylight. Levers, switches, and dials line the walls, while crescent-shaped panels encircle the space. A concrete bunker with a steel door stands to one side, built to protect workers during WW2 air strikes. #ArtDeco #Photography #Architecture #Hungary #LostPlace #Adventure

This 1920s Art Deco crematorium in Romania served the country's secular minority until it was closed in the 1990s. During the Romanian Communist party rule, crematoriums became the state-sanctioned funeral method of the Soviet-backed regime (as well as a convenient way to dispose of those who fell out of favour with the party). #ArtDeco #Romania #History #Photography #Cremation #Crematorium

2️⃣/2️⃣ The Jules Rimet Cup crowned football's greatest champions from 1930 to 1970. After Brazil was awarded the trophy permanently, it was stolen from the Brazilian Football Confederation's headquarters in 1983 and has never been recovered, making it one of sport's greatest unsolved mysteries. #WorldCup #FootballHistory #SoccerHistory #ArtDeco #PublicDomain #OpenAccess

Tucked away in the woodlands of Pennsylvania lies a unique fleet of streamlined 1930s and 1950s streetcars. These St Louis and Pullman-Standard carriages have glorious vintage Americana vibes. Many of these date to the height of the Streamline Moderne era. At this time, streamlined aerodynamic forms replaced the geometric shapes and excessive ornamentation of the earlier Art Deco style. #Streetcar #ArtDeco #Pennsylvania #Transportation #Moderne #Photography #Trams #Rust

Industrial #ArtDeco, at its finest! This abandoned powerplant plant control room in Hungary was powered down decades ago. The oval room is lit by an immense skylight, which casts dramatic light across the original green metal control panels. These walls remain lined with levers, valves, and dials. Without a doubt, one of my favourite adventures. I have visited three times now! #Hungary #ArtDeco #UrbanExploration #Photography #Explore #Abandoned

Kraftwerk P, a disused coal-fired power station in Germany. Built during the 1920s, it was intended to provide additional power during peak hours of electricity demand. Brown coal (Lignite) was supplied to the power station from nearby opencast coal mines, generating over 50 megawatts of electricity after further 1940s modernisation. #Germany #History #Abandoned #Photography #ArtDeco #Industrial #Powerplant
