Despite Half-Life 2 being set in a dystopian future where Earth was conquered by aliens and there are more barricades than a production of Les Miderables, City 17 still has a higher walk score than most US cities.

If not ... a floor jack and some sort of DIY cradle around the down tube? Personally, I use a bench mounted bike stand bolted to a piece of plywood, and clamped to my bench with quick clamps. A4b. I use FlatOut in my tires - pull out the foreign object, spin the tire to let the goo plug the hole, and top off the air. So far it has worked pretty well for me. https://multiseal.us/product/quick-strike-small-tire-2/ #bikeNite

@cavyherd@wandering.shop the reason the kits are sold per wheel is to allow customers to customize their order. Unicycles and cargo e-bikes with a hub motor only need one kit, tricycles need three. Thanks again for the questions! 2/2

@cavyherd@wandering.shop good questions! The remote comes with the "RF LED Controller" A "kit" includes a battery and pair of lights *per* wheel (i.e., one battery, two lights). The batteries can be charged in-situ (on the bike). Unplug the RF LED Controller from the battery and plug in the charger, which is a 12V 2A charger with a 2.1mm x 5.5mm connector. The remote and charger can be seen in one of the product photos. I'll update the instructions page with charging steps ASAP. 1/2

I'm going to be livid if the air conditioner I bought on 2024 only lasted two seasons.

Can't afford the thousands of dollars for a heat pump that lasts for ten to twenty years? Too bad! Spend a thousand every year or two on a disposable AC!

That's capitalism, baby!

@cavyherd@wandering.shop I usually charge mine once a week. With the 2A charger it only takes a few hours. I've done bench tests to see how long they last running continuously. They are very bright for the first 6-8 hours and then slowly dim over the next 24-48 hours. Something about the COB LEDs means they can keep on going when SMD LEDs in series with a resistor give up sooner.

@cavyherd@wandering.shop 3D printing and hyperfocus are a dangerous combination 😈 These lights mount to spokes with four screws each, so they can wander off, but no more so than any other part on your bike... But they're much more secure than lights held on by a rubber strap. They'll even stay put during a bone breaking crash; I learned that one the hard way...

@cavyherd@wandering.shop Yes, you should unplug it when it's done charging. The charger and the BMS (battery management system; a chip in the battery case that balances the cells) should keep it from over charging, but better safe than sorry. The LED controller has a tiny standby draw so will drain the battery if left plugged in but unused for a while, but we're talking weeks, maybe months.

@cavyherd@wandering.shop Hah! No, what happened is I took a wrong turn onto a street with on street light rail tracks and laterally traversed the tracks and lost all traction. And then I was on the ground with a broken clavicle. As for not having immediate access to a 3D printer... owning one can be quite the rabbit hole. But being able to produce a piece of plastic perfectly fit to a specific need on demand scratches my tinkerer/fixer/maker itch so well, I can't imagine having to wait a week for a print...

@cavyherd@wandering.shop The remote uses a coin battery. It is not rechargeable, but I've been using mine for two years with the original battery. The remote has a range of 10-15 feet, so it can be used while riding. Each kit comes with a remote, but by default, I bind all kits in an order to a single remote; any additional remotes are backups. I do not sell replacements separately, but given I've only had one order so far, there hasn't been a need for it yet...

@cavyherd@wandering.shop as an autistic myself I appreciate the need for clarity. Yes, a $129.98 for small lights, $149.98 for large lights, plus tax. Free shipping on orders over $75, and there's a 10% off promotion going on right now. Yes, the kits are about 2 lbs / 1 kg each, so a bottle of soda is an apt comparison. The weight is mostly in the batteries, which are well balanced on the wheel. I'll see if I can hack the HTML generated by Fourthwall's store front builder to add "per wheel" to the price 🙂
