Marshes and such.
Bivalve, NJ - If you want a dose of history as well, it used to be the oyster capital of the United States, until a parasite wiped out the oyster population. Currently a ghost town with possibly the most useless crosswalk in all of America. There's a small museum and tons of open, wide, unspoiled nature all around. Bird sanctuary nearby, Pine Barrens less than 30 minutes away...
Went there a few times now. It has this really strange energy there that this one always loves to return to. Can't reccomend enough, it's hard to explain.
Poconos - they exist.
Ricketts Glen, PA has amazing waterfalls, like, *highly* reccomend, it's a touch longer hike but it's so worth it...
