This account is an archive now.

Wanderausstellung I am A.I.
Schaut vorbei!
A quine is a computer program that prints its own source code. Such a program exists in any sufficiently powerful programming language by Roger's fixed point theorem.
A quine cannot contain all of its source code as a string which it then prints. One needs a trick.
One trick is to decompose the program into 3 parts. P, a Preamble, S.quote, a tail-string S of the program quoted in the programming language, and then the literal tail string S.
The program is P++S.quote++S

In a blind test, audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between audio signals sent through copper wire, a banana, or wet mud. ☝️

I seriously don't know, please help me: For what do data centers need so much fresh water?
OK, cooling, sure. But why don't they condensate that water again? You don't need to fill cooling water in your car all day either? Is this leakage? 5 million gallons per day per datacenter? Can't be true.
I tried to google this but it's terrible. Nobody explains this basic fact. I find only massive fearmongering, e.g.
https://www.eesi.org/articles/view/data-centers-and-water-consumption
The scientific approach is to find a solution, not scare.
Probably the least helpful or logical dialogue I've seen on #MacOS in a while. Can or cannot? Green gheckmark for an error? And this is an Apple Keyboard with TouchID, so very recent.
Needless to say that this "keyboard identification" is all useless anyway because the keyboard is working just fine. After all, it is just a USB-keyboard.
If by some effect all the mathematicians of the world would instead of the usual good mathematics suddenly start to only produce mediocre and meaningless self-referential and mildly incremental work --
How long would it take until the general public notices ?
And then what would politics do about it?
[ I mean from now on. In this scenario we still have access to all the good math from the past!]
RE: @tomkalei@machteburch.social
Saying something without saying anything in #lean:
def non_decreasing (f : ℝ → ℝ) := ∀ x₁ x₂, x₁ ≤ x₂ → f x₁ ≤ f x₂
example (f g : ℝ → ℝ) (hf : non_decreasing f) (hg : non_decreasing g) : non_decreasing (g ∘ f) := fun _ _ h => hg _ _ (hf _ _ h)
Is this a good proof? It's certainly easy to see after seeing it !!
