mastodon 4.7.3Is this why I can't have nice things?
Hello World in:
#go
1.6MB (with go build -ldflags "-s -w" hello.go, without 2.3MB)
#rust
357kB
or
305kB with:
[profile.release]
opt-level = 'z'
lto = true
codegen-units = 1
panic = 'abort'
strip = true
#c
16kB with no options (15kB when striped)
Maybe I should just go watch some 16k Amiga intros
Some documentation guy at MSKSEMI needs to get fired.
(or get a medal)
Pad layout with the distance specified from the centers, what kind of witchcraft is this!?
Also how am I to keep sharp if I more or less can simply enter the numbers into CAD?
@ThunderComplex@fosstodon.org it basically gives you a smaller/reduced version libc so one can still do a string printf (typically missing floating point support)
@ThunderComplex@fosstodon.org I know it is sort of silly.
Just one of the background jpeg files I use on one of the workspaces is a 3.5MB file...
But it still saddens me ever so slightly thinking about the "wasted" space.
#![no_std] wouldn't that make the hello world test less hello worldy, or is there a --specs=nano.specs alternative to the std library i rust as well?
@ThunderComplex@fosstodon.org Well it still makes me a little sad (not so much C as I do enjoy it on micro controllers, granted with quite a few extra options when compiling and linking the code)
Fear me, for I have Atomics!
Technically my CH32V203 with it's RV32IMACF core is the one with the Atomics, but it does my bidding!
