Came back from holiday, updated #Mozilla #Firefox and after grabbing a cup of coffee, suddenly the context menus were broken (e.g. not working/showing).

It appears it a bug on Wayland (running Sway) and it can be reproduced by turning your monitor off and on again (yes, really).

The bug luckily already had been reported and I hope we'll get some more eyes on it:

@bert_hubert@mastodon.nl Ben wel benieuwd hoeveel niveaus van falen dit verhaal kent. Missende risico inventarisatie? Geen boeren verstand in huis? Geen advies ingewonnen bij een security bedrijf / organisatie / AIVD? Spreadsheet cowboys die de realiteit kwijtgeraakt zijn? Of dan wat negatiever: Steekpenningen, snoepreisjes of andere vergoedingen? Vriendjes politiek? Of misschien minder opvallende dingen, personen of organisaties die spontaan een sloot aan "cloud credits" krijgen?

Hoe kunnen/moeten we dit melden? En is er een mogelijkheid om de status te checken? (ben vast niet de eerste die dit meldt, toch?) 😉

Bonus vraag: is er iets wat wij (de burgers) kunnen doen?

Does anyone know of a good method (may include #FLOSS software) to create #keyboard #shortcut #cheat #sheets ? This may include digital (on screen) and printed options.

Background: I am using a #mechanicalkKeyboard and am using it more and more. In a keyboard centric workflow, I tend to forget all available shortcuts. Software I am using: #ubuntu with #sway with #tmux #vim (actually #NeoVIM and neomutt

@QuantumAspect@mastodon.social de 2 oplossingen heb ik dus gedocumenteerd, omdat ik ze online niet snel/makkelijk kon vinden. Vanaf nu kan ik mensen makkelijk refereren naar de oplossing ipv iedereen zelf zich een ongeluk laten zoeken 😉 Bovendien vond ik beide settings niet intuitief of makkelijk vindbaar binnen de GUI. Ze staan sowieso niet bij elkaar in de buurt. Een nieuwe gebruiker gaat hier stuk op. Let wel, ik gebruik zelf al jaren geen Thunderbird meer, dus het zit me niet meer 'in de vingers' 😉

Als je dit correct (dat lukt wel) en in Jip en Janneke taal kan uitleggen (zeker in een medium als video), is het goed door te verspreiden onder de personen die minder tech-savvy zijn. Als er achteraf een publiekelijk beschikbare recording is, zou het delen daarvan extra lief zijn 😉

#Atlassian changes their customer terms per August 17, 2026. This is described in their "Data contribution FAQs" ( https://www.atlassian.com/trust/ai/data-contribution/faqs#general )

Default is opt-in for metadata and partial opt-in for in-app data! Be aware and change your strategy accordingly.

Just updated #Firefox to version 151.0.1 and it looks like #bug 2032822 might is gone ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2032822 ). Should apparently be fixed as well in >= 152.

#Firefox #Mozilla #developers - a big #thankyou for all your hard work.

FYI: this bug is about #Firefox menus disappearing / not showing after a monitor turns off, on #Wayland (in my case via #sway ).
