mastodon 4.7.3+glitchI am an adorable kitten. In my heart. I write, doodle, photograph birds and run for pleasure, which I know is very weird to some people.
I have a pride flag in my name not because I'm trying to be "loud and proud" but to let others know it's OK to be who you are, and that you are not alone. That's all.

@neatnik@social.lol I am a red pin! I also like that there are apparently a few ocean-going omg.lol'ers. 😊

@gedeonm@mastodon.social My province, BC, is switching to permanent Daylight Saving Time (to be known simply as Pacific Time) as of this Sunday, when we move the clocks forward an hour for the last time. I understand the arguments of more daylight in the morning vs. evening, and while I prefer the way the provincial government is going, I'm just glad to be done with time switching. Fun fact: It is legal in BC for a city to set its own time zone (and some do, based on where they are located, as BC is a very big chunk of land).

@gedeonm Musk doesn't need a million fucking satellites in orbit. This isn't hard to figure out. I'm with Ged, this will not lead to some bright (ho ho) future, more the opposite, because no government wants to stop or even slow the billionaires ruining the world for their own supposed benefit.

@bw It's an awesome resource and I'm glad you wrote it. One of the first things I did after discovering the web a hundred years ago was to buy a book on writing HTML. This is both a good refresher and brings back some fond memories. :)

@brunoph@breakpoint.cafe I saw these guys via another YT video. I love the look and the sound. Like a zanier version of Zombi.

@morrick I came across this yesterday. I loved what Horst did on the old YT channel Mac Address, glad to see him back.

@morrick You have my sympathy! I started getting hit with seasonal allergies a few years ago, getting sick on top of that sucks.

@ianbetteridge Great write-ups for the links but your intro text in the post above seems to be an incomplete paste from the first link's description, which feels...odd. Also, the first Proton link in the age verification piece appears to have changed to this: https://proton.me/blog/is-age-verification-safe

@morrick@appdot.net I think you nailed it, Zitron is thorough (or less charitably, long-winded). I understand why--he wants to show his work and not look like he's just making things up to push a narrative (and he openly admits when he is making best guesses).
And the tricky thing about conspiracies is sometimes they are real and we're so conditioned to believing the idea of conspiracy theorists as people untethered from reality, that it can blind us to genuine conspiracies.
That said, he could chuck about a third of every newsletter without losing anything. :P

@neatnik@social.lol Done! Now the header in my profile might make a bit more sense to some. :) (I was also able to update header and profile images in Phanpy, my Mastodon client of choice.)

@cabel@social.panic.com This is so delightfully weird, human and authentic. Thanks for sharing the behind-the-scenes details! Oh, and the scrollfrog.
