Advocating for a world that embraces humanity equally, fairly and justly in all of its varied and intricate forms.
A lifelong leftie. Quite eclectic in my tastes and interests. Love all cats. Australian.
I can't find the cat anywhere!

Had a long chat with my daughter about every topic we could think up. We've always been close and it's so comforting that it's continued well into her adulthood.
-
Saw the cats licking and grooming each other and then snuggling to combat the cold. They used to do this all the time but it's rare now they're fully grown.

Survived my night class even though my sugars were out of control. Just wanted to curl up and sleep but I hid it well enough.
1. Managed to work through the onset of a virus that seems to come back every year when the temperature drops.
2. My class were very vibrant and engaged despite the dreary weather.
3. Safely traversed the wet roads without incident.
40 years driving and had a first the other day. Cruising down a street in my neighbourhood and in the distance I spot a car coming my way. Usually not a drama but this car appeared to be on my side of the road. I slowed down, thinking the car would veer to the other side but it didn't. Then panic sets in, I slow to a crawl, flash my lights and blast the horn. About 3 seconds from impact, the driver realises their error and moves across and then just continues on.
Existential dread used to be something I really grappled with understanding but now it's becoming clearer as each day passes and each headline becomes more incomprehensible.
I've just spent 20 minutes trying to find where I can disable doomscrolling in the settings but when I finally found it and swiped it off, the screen just reloaded and showed me yet another atrocity.
About to embark on a short journey back in time to the place that owned my childhood. Feeling quite ambivalent as my emotions swing from nostalgia to dread. I had the happiest of childhoods in many ways but as an adult I've grown into a different person who doesn't easily remember this and I too quickly judge the place on how it fits with the current 'me'. I will endeavour to be more open and accepting this trip and try and recapture those happy memories.

Managed to accelerate through a lengthy list of home care necessities with minimal fuss and cost. Just a few more to finish off tomorrow.
-
Touched base with my son and found him in reasonable spirits just a few days out from his most important academic submission.
-
Feeling much more relaxed about life just a few days into a break.
-
Persevered and broke through my stubborn resistance to re-start work by ploughing through all my test marking.
-
In such a good mood from my breakthrough that I cleaned the house from top to bottom.
-
Found an egg laid by our remaining chicken who is nearly 12 years old. She hasn't lain any for years but now she is by herself, she's re-started. Unless of course a random chicken wandered into our yard and her hutch and laid it. Hmmm?
- Due to a brief respite from work, I can return to bed after waking up and lie around until I feel like doing something else.
- Enjoying the manic weather changes of spring. Boiling hot one moment and full fluffy coverings the next.
- Looking forward to spending a full day with my sweetheart on the only day we have off together. ❤️
- Have survived the worst of an intense block of work
- Achieved my first bout of exercise in many months and don't feel too fatigued a day or two after.
- Was able to spend a lovely week at home with my sweetheart on her holiday.
-
Recovered reasonably quickly from a debilitating bout of seasonal flu. Sustained high temps certainly test your limits.
-
Our near death old chicken is making a miraculous comeback. She was actually chasing me around the garden today because I was carrying her food.
-
Missing my sweetheart who is away this week visiting family. Absence certainly does make the heart grow fonder, even when I thought I'd reached the fondness limit.
I need to do this to get myself in the right frame of mind for the week ahead
- Great group of students in my new classes for this term. Happy, positive and eager to learn.
2.Starting to get a bit more organised with everything.
- The smell of impending spring is all around. All our pets are suddenly re-energised.
