In 2012, I got the chance to meet Kurtwood Smith, known for his role as Eric's dad on "That 70s Show.” He was making a stop at the Democratic party's headquarters in town.I talked to him about "That 70s Show" and a movie he had recently done with Helen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins about the filming of "Psycho.” He said he only had three scenes in the movie. I told him it may have been three scenes but ya have to make 'em count. He looked at me and said, "Brian, you're absolutely right.” #Memories

As I often do out here on deck this time of year I think of the last time I hung out at a bar with my oldest son Ryan in Merrill, Wisconsin; it was early June, 2006, and he was home for his only leave before he’d have to ship back to SW Asia to finish his deployment. We shot pool, smoked cigars and he turned me onto this band he’d been listening to. A couple months later, he was gone forever. His favorite off that album. #MusicOfMastodon#Wolfmother#Memorieshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iR5RY7pnMGI&ra=m

One of things I like about my son-in-law is he is - like me - a fan of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. After he and my daughter said their vows on their wedding day in 2013, the song that played as they left the alter of the church was this Tom Petty tune. I was a happy camper even if I was in a suit and tie. It kicked ass. #MusicOfMastodon#90sAlbumRock#Wildflowers#Memorieshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xTJT5rEJRII&ra=m

@SteveClough@metalhead.club @yourfutureex@metalhead.club I always have an #earworm — there's always music going through my head — so getting rid of an earworm is a matter of replacing it with another one, which I can do by playing a song I like better. As for embarrassing childhood #memories: self-compassion helps. I remind myself that I can't change the past, I forgive myself (without making excuses) for whatever I did wrong, and I use my adult's-eye view to recognise that, when people told me it was all my fault, it very often wasn't.
