Jeg kunne aldrig finde på at erstatte min ventoline med det, men skulle man nogensinde lande i en situation hvor man ikke bare kan få fat i medicin længere ville det nok være bedre end ingenting

The computers you have most of in your house are Linux computers. The computers you have the best interaction with, are Linux computers. Why? Because they are appliances. They are set up with a sane default that HAS to work out of the box.
The main reason the Linux desktop has historically been for nerds (like me) is that it is the opposite of an appliance

Nogle vil påstå man skal bruge smør til at lave smuldre dejen, men min erfaring er at margarine fungerer fint.

So many containers require root to run at the start, before changing privileges.
That should always be considered undesirable.
Imo, restarting podman containers and all that is generally a much nicer experience than with docker due to the excellent systemd integration.

This week, i finally got my hands on a CAT 6A cable (don't ask me why it took this long) it's, in the package shop, waiting for me.
Ive already gotten the house ready for the cable, just hadn't put it up yet.
Now i will FINALLY be able to stream games via Steamlink to my phone again 🥳
I don't have a steamdeck, i have a midrange desktop, that i prefer to use as a server, and stream games headlessly from it to my phone, using a backbone one controller.

No reason to make insane shell scripts for config when something like ansible is available.

The only real "affordance" i know of with docker is that some things "just work" just like a lot of things run directly on the host will just work when they run with root access.

Does not change the fact that dockers security is awful.
In my experience its also harder to deal with docker when it starts acting out, while with podman you can ultimately just kill the process of the container misbehaving.
