@nixCraft@mastodon.social my favorite usage of ublock origin is when its installed on android fennec (or firefox) and you need to skip some age verification overlay or something on some sites, you just use the picker on the page twice and you don't need to verify anything anymore ;)

@Setok@attractive.space hosting gotosocial is indeed very easy and nowadays it has even more features than mastodon like markdown while being more light on resources and easier to host
but email is rellly hard as i heard
team chat could also be easy and light like with continuwuity or these new discord alternatives i forgot to count
for team productivity you can use colabora, shouldnt be hard either tho i dont do that

@pr070cryp70n1c@mastodon.ml белые списки это и есть белые списки в прямом смысле. у провайдера стоит ящик, который смотрит на какой айпи идёт запрос, и если этого айпи нет в списках - не пропускает
вроде слышал про мифические способы обхода, но точно не так просто как в лес реалити
у нас уже полгода регулярно мобильный отключают, с осени стали белыми списками фильтровать, в декабре слышал разговоры что ктото както обходил
сам не так оказываюсь на улице, но если ктото подскажет рабочий обход буду рад узнать и воспользоваться при допустимой сложности

да там в комментах которые ко мне не дофедерировались очень хорошо описали проблему и решение с серверами мейлру звучит как чтото что могло бы работать
ну а так да, вот тебе буквально выдали список сотни айпишников - яндекс, мейл и тп, и только туда тебя пускают.
раньше было наоборот - был список айпишников (url адресов мб или както ещё), на которые тебя НЕ пускали - дискорд, ютуб, фейсбук... и такой чёрный список обойти намного проще - берёшь сервер с адресом которого в этом списке нет (таких осталось немало, тот же таймвеб) - и на нём ставишь впн. трафик идёт впновский на твой сервер через провайдера, а адреса твоего сервера в чёрном списке нет -> трафик проходит и смотришь свой ютуб
сейчас такие чёрные списки должны стоять: у всех провайдеров домашнего и мобильного интернета всё время
белые списки же пока что только на мобильном интернете ночью и по особым случаям (если сейчас не ночь и гугл не открывается - случай особый). на домашнем, проводном интернете белые списки пока не включают, поэтому перед выходом из дома важно отключать вайфай и проверять, открывается ли гугл.ком - если не открывается, стоит ещё раз подумать, а так ли тебе нужно на эту улицу выходить
по моей теории это такой мягкий коммендантский час, по второй моей теории - подготовка ко вводу этих белых списков на постоянку как минимум на мобильных сетях, чтобы граждане уже были с ними знакомы и не были в таком шоке
лучший способ обойти белые списки? покинуть страну как можно скорее, потому что неизвестно что последует за вводом этих белых списков - не окажешься ли ты без связи с внешним миром вообще и не будет ли *твоей жизни* или свободе угрожать опасность. конечно у всех есть свои причины оставаться и терпеть, типа больные родственники, работа учёба которую нельзя бросить (как в моём случае), важно трезво оценивать ситуацию и приоритеты

bitwarden/vaultwarden for passwords - will need to change passwords on all 100500 accounts everywhere
jellyfin for audio and video streaming - so i can watch my series and listen my music from everywhere
audiobookshelf for audiobooks - so i always resume from where i stopped
nextcloud/bewcloud to store my gallery and documents on my cloud
maybes:
some caldav + carddav (radicale?) for calendar and contacts - birthdays and other events, and forget storing contacts on google's clouds - if nextcloud is too big
searxng - if i can tune it how i like it and it can search how public instances do without overloading my laptop that would be great to have
something for realtime audio calls with simple registration (discord and telegram are far from perfect)
maybe a personal page about me with links and info
what other cool selfhosted software worth looking into do you know?

@YaLTeR@mastodon.online speaking seriously, if you only need the bar for time, it would be better to have some widget that flies out of the corner of a screen with a little clock on it when you hover your mouse to that corner or press a shortcut. that way you don't need to occupy your screen with the almost empty bar nor to open a terminal

i got told about the game "Homicipher" and i dissapeared from this world for 9 hours. its not very long, but has tens of endings, touching and memorable characters and interesting very nonlinear plot about a girl who got trapped in some mystical world and tries to escape
there is a game mechanic similar to "chants of sennaar" where you need to learn worlds, but you wont be given the right translation, you have only what you understood yourself, and your translations are written above the actual words
if you need a short story for a couple of days - "homicipher" is a great option!

at this point i see what they are trying to do. they just want people to use grapheneos and dont really care about other projects! that is a good example of how not to encourage people to try your product. some time ago i was considering buying a pixel to install grapheneos (or some other rom as pixels are good for roms, but i was specifically interested in graphene), and im glad my money didnt come to google and my time to this project that doesnt seem to know what a healthy collaboration should look like. i am not saying pixel phones are trash or grapheneos is garbage - it may be achieving its purpose well in terms of privacy and everything, but how they position themself, i dont see much of free software spirit in that. trying to become an alternative to google they inherit too much from that google that should not have been inherited. i will never use grapheneos personally nor recommend it to a free software enthusiast

@stephanie те же lineage куда честнее - честно говорят что у них такой же андроид как у других, но с опцией без всяких гуглсервисов. с нормальной поддержкой комьюнити, а не одна марка телефонов сомнительного производителя. без замашек что они единственные верные и самые безопасные
никогда не понимал графен - во первых изза пикселей, во вторых изза странного токсичного маркетинга основывающегося на безопасности и приватности (но по сути продукт особо от других сборок андроида в этом плане не сильно отличается)
в принципе с каждым годом всё сильнее и сильнее разочаровываюсь в андроиде и всё больше смотрю в сторону мобильного линукса, мб какнибудь куплю себе феирфон 5 и поставлю постмаркет или ещё кого. или mecha comet как выйдет
