i have been drawing since middle school but some advice actually helped me “even if you have drawn for years, if you don’t like your art, go back to the basics. draw shapes over and over again.” and that really helped me. drawing circles and cubes genuinely got me feel like i was *practicing* instead of just drawing whatever. maybe this is useful to someone else. #art #MastoArt #mastodon #artist

@penny@eldritch.cafe also want to add here that i do use libby and use the digital library but their queer collection is extremely limited and it has 3-6 month waiting times. and even if i notify the library to get more copies they do nothing.

@penny@eldritch.cafe this is the reason i download books, i do want to support trans authors but i live with my parents and cant get a job to make money. and my mom is extremely nosey about the physical books i bring home so if she finds something queer she will abuse me.

@jo@infosec.exchange @tillybridges@mastodon.social no i dont. and on top of that the author blocked me instead of having an actual discussion about why i believe this which doesn’t seem very “author-like”. if you want to make writing your career would you not want to learn more about what other people think? anyways, i don’t agree with you because i believe being an author in the first place is a privilege. i know trans people that would literally be shot dead in their country for SAYING theyre

@tillybridges@mastodon.social i notice that you never want to actually engage in any points that we are making. you just cover in up in that we are “hurting trans people” when its not trans people who are downloading pdf files on the internet that are doing that. it is politicians that are censoring books, it is transphobes that abuse trans people everyday. sorry i am not going to use the library you are offering if you will accuse me of being a bad person or hurting trans people??
