If the purpose of the duress pin is to tell cops something that makes them happy, it should look as if it actually unlocks the device, not as if it wipes data. And if the OS is secure, that should be enough. If it isn't, it may additionally wipe the user data encryption key (w/o reboot).
@energisch_@troet.cafe @vampirdaddy@chaos.social Aktuell braucht Frankreich die Brennelemente aus Lingen, aber aktuell geht es auch ohne die Kooperation mit Rosatom. Es geht bei der Kooperation um die Herstellung von Brennelementen für WWER/VVER, die bisher dort gar nicht hergestellt werden. Kraftwerke mit solchen Reaktoren gibt es in Frankreich schlicht nicht, es geht bei der Kooperation also nicht um Frankreich.
@badger3 @KITInformatik @entropia @MuT_KIT hab ja nicht gesagt, dass Signal "Big Tech" wäre. Beim "digitalen Unabhängigkeitstag" scheint es mir um Abhängigkeiten zu gehen, und was das angeht sind Signal und WhatsApp relativ ähnlich:
- Die Server sind von zentralen, unfreien Cloud-Anbietern abhängig
- Die Clients sind von unfreien Betriebsystemen abhängig. Für beide gilt: Wenn man GAFAM aus der Gleichung nimmt geht nix mehr.
Nur bei offenen, föderierten Systemen ist das nicht so. #Matrix #XMPP
