@joelle This is what we all wanted - machines to do the work, so we dont have to. As Arthur C. Clarke said it, "In the future, the goal will be full unemployment - so we can play." It does, however, require a universal basic income, and a heavy taxation of the companies that no longer need human labour.

@codemonkeymike Sometimes I feel like I live in a bubble. I teach kids (12-20), and by far the most of them have never even heard of Linux. It's win or mac for them - there is no third option 😞

@i_give_u_worms @joelle I don't see how UBI would necessarily leave people disengaged - but would have the option. But you would also have the option to engage yourself in whatever you liked. But of course, this is not the focus of politicians currently - so we should make it their focus.

We've been running this for yhe past roughly ten years, usually for somewhere between 20 and 30 students each year. This last camp I also managed to sneak in an evening Linux Install Party 😁 The students were very curious and interested, and by the end of the camp, many of them seemed to have a lot of fun working in the terminal 😊

We arrange three-day camps for young people from 12 to 20 years of age about STEM subjects, and I'm in charge of three space technology camps every year for students in the second year of Danish high school, typically 17-18 years old. The first camps is about rockets and orbital mechanics, the second is about electronics, soldering, programming and sensors, and the last is about...
