Extinction Rebellion Global

War is the biggest environmental crime on Earth.
Every bomb dropped poisons the air, the soil, and the water. Cities burn, ecosystems collapse, and generations inherit landscapes filled with toxins, rubble, and trauma.

Extinction Rebellion stands against war.
Extinction Rebellion stands against ecocide.
A livable world cannot be built on endless violence. Peace, justice, and ecological protection are inseparable.

Look at the natural world. The science. Anyone who doesn't realise we're heading for a +4°C world and a civilisation collapsing disaster either isn't paying attention or is paid to lie.
Pulling down current societal structures is the only way we might survive.

The Trump regime has paid a French company $1Bn to NOT replace oil with renewables. 🤦

The US military uses 12M+ barrels of oil a day, and is a massive global emitter. All militaries would be the 4th biggest carbon source after China, the US & India. Military emissions aren't covered by climate treaties. Emissions for rebuilding are *enormous*.

So many countries are now seeing themselves in dire straits, rather than their essential oil passing though the Hormuz straits, that it will give govts the impetus, and popular assent, to rapidly transition to renewables.
Ironically with this war, Trump may have done more to speed up the global shift away from oil than anything ever. #Iran #IranWar

Even so called 'survivable heatwaves' cause thousands of deaths. We are rapidly moving into a world with 'unsurvivable heatwaves' where no person could live through 6 hours of heat and humidity in direct sun.

Because of people like you, we have more rights and freedoms. There will always be differing voices, but what truly matters is the love, care, and conviction behind your actions. We see you, we honor you, and we stand with you.

Once in a while, you might see an article touting the best places to live to avoid climate change. The fear of fire or floods in your backyard might inspire you to move someplace where you and your family will be safe. Despite your connection to your hometown, you might be tempted to flee.

The reality, however, is that, as the Conservation Law Foundation wrote, 'there is no safe haven from climate change'.

This specifically applies only to people who live in about half of Australia's land mass, however the moral lesson is for us all.
