This is very clever! I was wondering whether it’d be possible without scroll-driven animations using position-try-fallbacks and/or container queries on the measurement element, but you can’t because you need to get information from a child to a parent. Thanks to named timelines, scroll-driven animations make it possible!

I don’t have a TV, but if I did I’d never connect it directly to the network. I’d probably get an Apple TV and connect that to network. There are even jellyfin apps for Apple TV!

It’s wild to me that no one in the Trump admin seems to understand that Iran is repeatedly taunting the US into restarting the war *because* Iran knows it’s politically unpopular, and because they know high fuel prices are politically unpopular. It’s foreign interference by Iran against Republicans, and the admin is oblivious.

Has anyone seen examples of a UI pattern for an input where you get suggestions for valid options for just the next character?
For example, say I want to let someone enter a number where start="400" stop="700" step=".025". So the valid first character is the set [4, 5, 6, 7]. Once someone enters that, the next few characters are the full set [0-9]. Then the step size kicks in and the last couple digits are [0, 2, 5, 7] and [0, 5], respectively.

I worry about stuff like how/when the browser does layout and what it uses for the intrinsic size/aspect ratio of the image (I think it’s still from src) and how the alt attribute relates to any content: url() / alt declarations. I haven’t dug in and done the experiments, so if you do I’m looking forward to your blog post! :D

Running into a glitch with #css view transitions in Firefox. It happens when an ancestor of the elements being transitioned has a transform applied (or is otherwise in a new compositing layer, like with `will-change`). Are there any work-arounds? Am I holding it wrong?
