@SallyStrange@eldritch.cafe @larsmb@mastodon.online Now that you've put it that way, I can't unsee this thought: So companies are generating excessive warming and water consumption just to build a massive smartphone autocomplete-autocorrect?
Maybe I'll call it "Generative Autocomplete".

@razhael@infosec.exchange And the same editor is now apparently accusing a few editors who participated of being biased?:

@mttaggart I think there is one thing that's especially lacking in Generative AI, a feature that'd fix it for everyone if present.
Garbage collection.

@SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange I have... perhaps too many questions: besides how this happened (is this really supposed to be the same track, that has just been bent a bit too much? (And also: how did that happen? Switches defined in the wrong direction or place?)), there's this one: why are bogies behaving this way (they're moving along the vehicle bodies?)? Is that something the simulation does to add flexibility?

@m@lgbtqia.space (I'm counting #Gmane's #Gwene over #NetworkNews as an RSS (and atom) feed reader, so I picked "every day".)
(Although, to be fair, in my case that should be "every day as schedule and stress allow" which can, under certain planetary alignments, almost translate into "weekly"...)

Is there any possibility of hope that a result of this is a more usable archive.org with less reliance on js?
(Not that the solution ought to be "ditch js framework", really just commenting on how the current js use harms usability and compatibility (especially when less common js features are in use).)

@WhiteCatTamer@mastodon.online @burgerdrome@aus.social I can't help but think that this would be "MacBook Wheel [1], but with much worse user experience", and [cut to the autocomplete part of the ONN news piece:]
