First sewing project (pencil case) complete! I thought recycling a reusable Walmart bag was the best choice to practice with and I liked the way it turned out. I feel like I did a decent job and any places where the stitching wasn't exactly straight is hidden inside the seams. Biggest misstep was sewing the zip too tight and needing to make some adjustments ✂️

Definitely more confidence earned for next project ✨ I want to do it again and use something heavier so it's got more structure.

I wanted to test out the decorative top stitching so shamrocks and hearts seemed like an obvious choice 🇮🇪

A stitch in time... Got a new toy this week.

Looking forward to a few sewing projects this year. I was initially inspired when I got a custom Chrome Industries bag (back in 2015) and I found out they make them in store by hand...

Kids are looking forward to doll dresses and teddies too 🧸

@NotYourSysadmin@infosec.exchange @wendythedruid@thistlenfern.org yup, it was maintained by M$ so I reckon they thought it was a better abstraction for them to work with. If they needed to change an immature API, they could control the changes in ARM more seemlessly, no need for changes to TF provider too... 🤷

@NotYourSysadmin@infosec.exchange @wendythedruid@thistlenfern.org While we're torching CF, can we throw azure resource manager (ARM) templates on the fire too?

I've tried to migrate some broken ARM templates to TF before and ran into issues... Dug into the TF provider and it was just generating ARM under the covers... quiet screaming intensifies

@rachel is there an API endpoint? Dynatrace has a similar workflow to update certs for the fleet of monitoring agents via the UI but we dug into the API docs and found it was straight forward to update that way

@makeitmythic @Soskopp @Mastodon we're the stakeholders in this scenario, right?.... Right? I know it's really corporate flavor of speech but at the end of the day, organising a project this big requires a lot of cooperation and communication across a team of people (or many teams of people). Best way of communicating is with a shared vocabulary and the corporate one just happens to be common because a lot of people in open source projects have experience in corporate jobs to pay the bills 🤷 I know it can be really hard to solicit feedback for open source projects because of the loose relationship between maintainers and users. I've watched a few releases from the Mastodon team and I've seen the effort they've put into getting stuff like quote tweets right. I like to think we can give them the benefit of the doubt 🤞

@zef@social.zef.pub OMG, this happened to me a few months ago. I was visiting family and my NFS storage went haywire... I knew the only solution was a reboot but I've had issues with triggering a reboot remotely before where it would run into an error during shut down (can't flush NFS) and never boot back up. Luckily I found a way to remotely force it to bypass much of the shutdown process and go straight to reboot (I wasn't too concerned about losing data that wasn't flushed to NFS) but I lost access for at least a week while I was researching options

@glyph maybe the real torment nexus was inside us all along? But in all seriousness, I genuinely believe that some of the worst things playing out in the industry at the moment will come back to bite a lot of companies... Oh sure, there's no putting the genie back in the GPU but companies that take a balanced approach will probably win our in time for the next disruptive industry shift

@KekunPlazas what is this? A MAP FOR ANTS!? Eh hem... No, it's Fodor's Travel Guide for the Canadian Rockies. TIL that you can open embedded images in a dedicated viewer and zoom and pan around to your hearts content. There is a brief visual echo during panning but the screen quickly refreshes after you finish swiping.

@KekunPlazas I was thinking that Mandarin would be a good option to test out translation dictionaries but couldn't find an epub dictionary... Until I found the Collins Mandarin Chinese Visual Dictionary! In retrospect this is probably more what an intrepid adventurer would be looking for in a hurry anyway There's broad scope for quality of survial books I'm guessing. As long as you're able to get a decent epub my guess is most survival books would be fine. Unfortunately I'm not well versed with botanicals. Any recommendations on specific reference books I can look out for? I think it's a pretty cool idea to have a bug-out collection of travel ebooks that you can side load in a hurry, I'll defo be carrying my kobo next time I go camping with the family 🏕️

@KekunPlazas I think the key challenge here is finding quality materials... I've got an ereader and I'm definitely willing to try it out and report back 😄 Only dictionary I've got is a pdf scan so... Probably not great to search through in a stressful situation

@trochee @glyph yes, the disruption that AI will cause will be far reaching, affecting more than just the IT industry. People from all corners of society will feel the pain and most won't be so lucky. Ripple affects will compound and cause turmoil... It's going to suck

@thor@mast.ttk.is @rexxdeane@mastodon.online @VTDARKSIM@toot.community @aphyr@woof.group ohhh yeah, it's all shades of grey. 100%, Google's involved too. At a certain size, any company is going to have a hard time NOT throwing it's weight around to protect it's own interests. "Protecting shareholders investment" can be interpreted in a lot of creative ways at that scale. I'm thinking of stuff like Satya paying to get a front row seat at the inauguration and how M$ is tied to OpenAI and the whole Project Stargate thing (Trump is going to grease the wheels with executive orders on a $500B project to build 10 new AI datacentres before 2029). It's been a while since I've seen Azure DevOps in action... Are you able to self host the whole thing? I've seen docs saying you can self host the agents that run pipeline steps but I didn't think it included git hosting solution too

@iinavpov it's so much worse than that. The thing is, I've no doubt it can find vulns all day... Maybe they're 99% garbage, we don't know cos Anthropic isn't going to give us more than marketing fluff and the users are charged through the nose for the privilege. Fine, more fool them. There's going to be pressure internally for the vendors ("don't you take security seriously?") My concern is that enough companies will try it and we'll see a flood of CVEs coming out. Information overload. Even if we don't have access to Mythos ourselves there's an expectation that we'll be installing all security patches that our vendors put out. This is going to be pretty distracting... Once a vendor establishes itself in an enterprise, good luck getting rid of them just because they use LLMs, most product owners/suits are going to see those kinds of changes as frivolous

@elebertus@eigenmagic.net @ahelwer@discuss.systems Yeah, if you're building a CLI, it's probably not suitable...

For a min I was hoping OpenCLI would be a spec-driven development schema for building CLIs 🤣 I'll have to give this a whirl though...
