Software engineer with about 6 years experience looking for a job either remote US or locally based in NZ. I do web dev in c# mainly but I’m keen to move away from Microsoft stacks if possible.
Been tough finding anything since moving here, even temp/part-time side-gigs. Full working rights in NZ and US, if anyone has something lemme know. Open to most non-tech jobs to make ends-meet!

I guess it's because I give a shit about the general state of things more than API upgrades that can be funded by other means. It's easier to be an "open source" libertarian with their head in the sand, but unfortunately I'm not suited for that.
Just so I understand your views a bit more, would you find it acceptable to accept €240k from the Russian government and list them as a corporate sponsor? Lockheed Martin? Organised crime? What sources are unacceptable in your view?

I think rejecting money from people complicit in genocide is what should be done. A few existing donors are on BDS (Intel, Dell, Google), and I understand those are less feasible since it may include existing maintainers losing their jobs. It would be ideal for them to source alternative funding routes going forward, but that takes time.
And while Anthropic isn't subject to a *consumer* boycott, taking on *new* donors such as Anthropic that are actively working with these boycotted companies and taking part in the US/Israel war efforts is unacceptable. They are instrumental in the fascist takeover of our society, and their CEO has made it clear in his manifesto he thinks it's not anywhere near enough.
