Seems like #FreeCad has come a long ways since last looked at it years ago. Fantastic to not be temped to use corpo software that's on the road to enshitification. Now i just need to learn to use it.

@Phracker2Art@mstdn.social @gwynnion@mastodon.social every single line of code is a potential liability. It can contain all kinds bugs and needs to be considered when understanding the behaviour of a system. Two systems supporting the same operations, the one with less code is the more valuable.
We're entering a world of infinite oceans of logic that has very little value.

@samir the other thing that escapes the bean counters is that code is faster to write then to fully understand. Hence all the bugs all the time and projects devolving into balls of mud. Every line is a liability. And we created a machine that excels in generating plausible lines with absolutely no understanding of what it does.

Yearly we take the Forbes list, ans whoever is number one gets taken out. All of their wealth is forfeit and used to fund the UN and redistributed to the world's poorest. After a few years of this, nobody wants to be obscenely rich and the worlds poor are no more. Probably this fixes climate change as well.
