​​ Free Lathe looking for a good home! Location: Hohenau an der March, lower Austria Do your hackerspace (or you) want a lathe? I am moving soon, and I don’t think I will be able to take it with me, so I want to find my Paulimot PM3800 a new home. It weighs around 300kg, + 50 for the base, 6 speed spindle gearbox, power feed in both axis, change gears for threading, all still there. Comes with a 3 jaw and a 4 jaw, which needs a mounting plate tho, set of indexable turning tools with inserts, live and dead center, 2 ER32 tail stock drill holders with a full collet set. Bought it new around 2020, probably less than 200 hours on it, protected from grinding dust so should be in decent condition. Also bar stock in steel, aluminium, brass and bronze. Optionally if you want to tinker: A VFD, Masso CNC controller, and 2 300w servo motors. There is an engine hoist for lifting it off the base, and into a car or trailer, you do need to get it up a steep ramp for about a meter, but there is a hardpoint at the top for setting up rope and pulley or similar. I guess a few very strong people could also just lift it up the few steps. I would like to get it out of here quickly, ideally this weekend or early next week, if possible. #lathe #hackerspace #austria

Not everything with a cracked plastic case is destined for the bin. This Flymo came into TOG with a badly damaged outer shell. Our member Ambrose repaired it with a plastic welder, melting the plastic and embedding metal staples across the break from the inside to reinforce it. That is one of the joys of a hackerspace: shared tools, shared knowledge, and people willing to give things a second life. #ChaosWlesie czyli #Hakierspejs #Polesie 💪 Przyszła wiosna, więc wróciły myśli, by w wolnym pokoju (obecnie rowerownia) stworzyć pracownię, gdzie będą mogły przyjść inne osoby i np. zainstalować z moją pomocą #Linux-a na starszym lapku, sprawdzić, czy im odpowiada #KDE czy jednak #Gnome albo inny desktop - na którymś z moich, coś sobie zabrać, coś zostawić, czy naprawić jakiegoś grata. Muszę ogarnąć jakieś stoły, krzesła, może poprawić podłogę. Prąd, internet, ściany, sufit i okno już są ;) No i może ja się tam przeniosę z pracą, bo czasami mam wrażenie, że jestem w robocie od rana do nocy, bo wszystko odbywa się w jednym wielkim pomieszczeniu z piecem kaflowym (ciepełko w zimie). Podobno tak lepiej, można np. "skończyć pracę na dzisiaj". Jakie macie doświadczenia? Praca w #HomeLab / #HomeOffice i kontakt z ludźmi przez telefon, socjalki czy komunikatory całą dobę potrafi zmęczyć 😜 Na zdjęciach prostownik do naprawy, polski, z Bielska Białej 😍 (moje miasto rodzinne). Użytkownik "wgrzewał" nim coś w plastik a następnie próbował sam coś lutować i wyszedł straszny bałagan. Naprawi się 🛠️ Ma może ktoś schemat do Kukla BK 12/10?🤔 #Hackerspace #Makerspace #Naprawialnia
