mastodon 4.8.0-nightly.2026-10-06Don't mind me.
Just a tired, lost soul floating around the Fediverse.
I occasionally post in Swedish, so use the "change subscribed languages" setting on my profile if you want to hide rather than translate those.
Note: I don't subscribe to a blind "follow back" mentality. I curate my feed. Nothing personal.
Grabbed my DSLR to do some street photography on my way home. Great idea in theory. The problem is I feel super awkward and creepy every time there's a stranger in my viewfinder. I panic and point the camera somewhere else. Which doesn't make for great street photography, where capturing people is the entire point. 🤦

Come on, do Linda and them a favor and move the dressing room inside.

Android: Phone is in bedtime mode, only important calls can reach you!
Me: How do I set a contact as important?
Android: Oh sorry, you can't. You can set them as favorites and you have to Google to find out if that is the same thing as important. You can also set a contact as a VIP, which, you know, sounds like it should be the thing given that the I stands for important and the P stands for person, but that's a completely different thing probably. Google it to find out. 😊

How big do you have to be to eat a whole tree like a broccoli?
The YouTube algorithm did something strange and unpredictable that I kind of liked, even though I'm very much not interested in the video in question (didn't click it, but hovering you get a silent preview with subtitles). In my Home feed it recommend a one day old video with only 9 views, about a topic I never watch. 9 views. I think that's pretty cool.

Do you like atmospheric synthy takes on classical music?
The host of awesome YouTube channel Curious Droid, Paul Shillito, has made an album, and it's great! He's apparently been fiddling about with old schooly synth music inspired by Isao Tomita for decades and now has enough tracks for an album. Pieces by Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Stravinsky, Sibelius etc.

- I'm a brother shamus!
- Brother Shamus? ... Like an Irish monk?
- What the fuck are you talking about?
Ew I dreamed I was taking a shower and all of a sudden someone connected the water pipe to the sewage pipe.

Sigh. As if absurd ram and storage price hikes due to AI crap weren't enough. The future of home computing really looks bleak.

How large can you make hydrofoil vessels? I want to see a massive cargo ship with sails and motors zip across the ocean at ridiculous speed. (the waves will stand down due to the sheer awesomeness of it all I'm sure)

I thank you, Gods, for making isolating headphones a thing. 🙏 When I get home from this bus with shrieking crying infants I will sacrifice something in my fridge to you by eating it. Bless.
