Guido van Rossum: I am definitely not looking forward to an AI-driven future. I’m not worried about AI wanting to kill us all, but I see too many _people_ without ethics or morals getting enabled to do much more damage to society with less effort...
I hope that Python’s legacy will reflect its spirit of grassroots and worldwide collaboration based on equity and respect rather than power and money, and of enabling “the little guy” to code up dream projects.

Small update, #selfhosting #music works like charm! On #android I've switched to #tempus installed via @IzzyOnDroidOrg repo through @fdroidorg It's updated regularly and more customizable that original #tempo app My wife started to use it and for her #android #Auto works, but you'll have to install the version with Google blobs from https://github.com/eddyizm/tempus/ Once she starts using something it means it's quite user friendly, so imho it's safe recommendation for everyone :)

@JigmeDatse @codemonkeymike sometimes getting unofficial battery replacement can be worth the gamble. I got mine from AliExpress, Amazon or eBay. Did it 3 times over the years and they survived for over 2-3 years. The cost usually is around 20-30€

The downside of adult offloading is people get less sharp. The downside of adolescents growing up delegating to AI is a generation that was never sharp to begin with. Protecting the space our children need to develop the foundational skills of thinking is now a non-negotiable.

@mdziemann@genomic.social makes sense, consumer CPUs are optimized for single-threaded performance with turbo boost (higher frequency, often over 5GHz) when only single core is used. This is also possible because longer task is assigned to different core every few seconds (to spread thermal load across different parts of the CPU). Running 2 or more tasks lowers max frequency. Enabling turbo boost in server CPUs makes little sense due to thermal constraints and higher load (rarely single core is used in HPC).

Even assuming a very generous profit margin of 10 percent per token, that would mean that token consumption between now and 2030 would need to grow by 50,000–100,000x. I guess current solution is to create "AI powered" social networks where agents "talk" to reach other... Only who would pay for that?!

Z istotnych aplikacji nie działa tylko Google Pay, a alternatywy (np Curve) nie udało mi się aktywować ani razu. @markwyner@mas.to I got really moved, especially by a real possibility of helping/saving someone via moderation! "We also once helped someone who posted a cry for help. He was talking about ending his life. Someone reported his post to see if we could help, and we did. Every once in a while I check on his account. He’s still there, posting cool stuff. I like to think we played a role in that."

W Katalonii jest bardzo celebrowane - tutaj nazywają to St Jordi i tradycyjnie ludzie obdarowują się książkami i różami. Legenda jest świetna: księżniczka, smok, rycerz na białym koniu i róże wyrastające z krwi smoka. I niekoniecznie kończy się ślubem i "żyli długo i szczęśliwie". Nasza córka ją uwielbia. When you plot raw signals, you'll see strange stretches similar to homopolymer... we haven't observe anything like this in rna002, only in rna004. my working hypothesis it that's because of helicase #stalling specific to new #RNA #helicase variant used in #rna004 @nanopore@genomic.social
