@alexmagill@mastodon.social i don't think you can work with advertisers and keep anonymity You know about data brokers? They do fingerprinting and use elaborate AI and algorithms mix to determine who you are and what you do. No data means no ads (you literally see no ads if they don't know at least your age and interest) I believe it's just privacy first, just after revenue ;)

One of my last 2 strings the last being google photo :) Ads are annoying especially when you are trying to navigate to somewhere 😅 Also they probably send your android ad id with your locations to a million companies

I'd like to avoid that for them to have the option later to be more responsible and use smaller LLMs depending on the task

Follow-up on running #LLM locally: I benchmarked 4 models to see if I can actually work while they run

Good news: 3-7B models feel smooth, my laptop stays usable. The GPU handles most of the load.

The 20B model takes 4s before the first word — painful.

Sweet spot on my config: Lucie 7B, fast enough (19 tok/s) and good French.

Surprise: my system already swaps 2GB at idle — that's Firefox, not the AI 😅

Probably we should Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it I'm not a web designer nor real web dev, I just love coding Silex and now I know the web platform pretty well, but I never coded any real websites (we have 2 people at internet2000.net who use silex to create the sites, I do the dev, support, debug)
