v8.1.8 Important security upgrade
We have learned that the SQL injection vulnerability fixed in v8.1.6 has been exploited at scale since at least May 18, 2026 and so before the v8.1.6 release.
We released a new version that remove all user token access gained before v8.1.6. We also explain the attack in the changelog and the countermeasures taken by this release.
Please upgrade to v8.1.8 as soon as possible.

Please upgrade ffmpeg on your PeerTube instance/PeerTube runner OS as soon as possible (ffmpeg >= v8.1.2 or ffmpeg >= v7.1.5 on Debian).
The PeerTube Docker image has been automatically rebuilt, meaning that admins using Docker can simply re-pull the image.

To facilitate content moderation, you can create lists of watched words. Any comment containing a word from one of these lists is automatically tagged, and video makers can choose to block these comments or moderate them on a case-by-case basis.

We're designing a feature to reduce storage costs for admins. The idea is to apply rules to videos based on specific criteria.
Rules can be:
- Delete all resolutions except max one
- Move files in another object storage provider/system (glacier...)
Criteria can be:
- No views since x days
- Age > x days
I'd really like to hear your feedback on that

@westfox35@wcgw.art Too much metadata were attached to log context when PeerTube retrieves oauth tokens from the database. The log is only displayed when the admin changes the default log level to debug. It is written to server FS logs, that are only accessible to sysadmins and PeerTube admins.

If you didn't enable remote runners, you don't need to do this.
