Just did a kintsugi workshop today as birthday gift from my wife. Even though we didn't get to do the entire process ourselves (takes over a month) and didn't use real gold (it's a tin alloy), it was an awesome experience! Hoping to find the time to do a proper course in the future.

Wow. "An organization composed of optimally performing parts will itself likely perform suboptimally, particularly where the interactions between parts carry the behavior of the whole." This explains why so many academic departments are horrible. Hiring based solely on candidate performance and never thinking about how they fit into the team.
