Member of the Urban Metoo Elite. Drives a diesel while thinking of the climate. Piano-, VW Beetle (old kind) and model railway keeper. Was called woke before I knew what it was. Still a noob to the Mastoverse. Putin hatin' pacifist. I'm not that interesting, I'm just old! Republican (not the American kind). Maybe I'm paranoid, but I won't give you my real name. I'm not a follow back girl. Unfollow ≠ hate.

@yvanspijk@toot.community Of course! "Tun" (Sw., but also No. (and Da. I guess)) is related to "town". I have never thought of that. Thank you.

@notsoloud @yvanspijk The same in Norwegian bokmål, except we call the yellow in the egg "plomme".

@yvanspijk Today I learnt a new Norwegian Nynorsk ord: å bliva. I had to look it up, but it is, of course, in the dictionary.

@djnavarro When you are a small child, you are afraid of the big girls on the corner because they beat you up. When you are a boy at the same age as the girls on the corner you are afraid of them because they break your heart and your self esteem. When you are a grown up man you are afraid of the young girls on the corner because they beat you up.

@davidwilkins@mastodon.online The German armed forces asked if VW could continue to make the WW2 Kübelwagen, but VW hadn't the capacity. So instead they hired Ghia to make the 181 from 1968. The military version kept the rear lights from the VW Type 2 1967-1971 throughout the model's production time (probably to make it possible to swap parts from all 181s), while the civilian version got the rear lights from the VW 1303 from 1973.

@libreoffice@fosstodon.org Is this the wrong place for asking for help? I use Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS and have downloaded the DEB version of Libreoffice 26.2.5. I select all the files in the DEBS folder and open them in the App Center and click install. And the beachball starts turning. And turning. And turning. No installation seems to be happening. Have I done something wrong?

@libreoffice@fosstodon.org Thank you. The solution was not to use the graphic package manager, but open the DEBS folder in Terminal and type "sudo dpkg -i *.deb". Silly of me not to think of that.

@rradczewski It was a program about it on Norwegian radio a couple of years ago. As a former programmer I'm horrified by the faith in "A Computer Can Do No Errors."
