Not much to say about this.
Perfect totally restored Lancia Integrale Evo, fresh out of the shop and onto the road.
Glad someone has the money/will to keep it so nice AND still has the stomach to keep it on the streets instead of hiding it in a private collection.
I guess I buried the lede a bit, the marque of the month at PreStage was "swedish", which means a lot of cool Volvos and one crazy Saab over in the corner :)
I enjoyed talking to a bunch of the owners, but neglected to get enough pictures :(
The 850R wagon has been one of my bucket list cars for-fucking-ever and this super clean yellow one is exactly the spec I've always dreamt of. The owner was so happy to talk with me about or shared fond memories of the magazine ads showing these things just absolutely ripping around a track.
The white sedan sporting Panasports and big old rally spots was a real looker and I wish I could have gotten a good picture of the fancy script "overdrive" badge, but it was too shiny and just blew out the shot or came out with a perfect reflection of my goofy self in it.
The green sedan just looked dope, I love the basket mesh wheels and black trim over minty green. I feel like 3/4 of the kids in my highschool had a hand me down 240 or 242 and this one was just all vibes.
The old blue wagon was 100% curves and old man style to the extreme. The owner was surprised to see me pull along side to try and get a roller of it. I think at first he thought he was being challenged by the world's most clueless street racer :) but I showed him the picture later when I saw him at the meetup and he gave me the biggest toothy smile 😁

The owner was on a phone call, so I didn't get a chance to ask about this one. I'm pretty sure it's a '88. I was excited to see an AW11 mister two and then noticed the "SUPERCHARGED" graphic above the rocker. I hustled over excited to see the engine cover was propped open.
Imagine my surprise to see a ?!Camry V6 stuffed into the tiny engine bay.
I've owned 2 AW11s and they are so much fun, but absolutely a nightmare to work on unless you are triple jointed and wear size XXS gloves. I can imagine the patience it'd take to change the sparkplugs on this thing.

Another chill Saturday at the PreStage meetup in Marin. As usual there were many interesting cars.
The wheels on this Accord really looked awesome. I'm happy that there are enthusiasts into the "rad" era cars, for too long there was basically no one interested in them and so many were just unceremoniously junked and crushed.
Car makers NEED to bring back cool options. The patterned inserts in this M Coupe are next level awesome!

For when the groove is hitting just right, this guy had a tiny cymbal for enhancing his cruise.
There are plenty of 90s and 2000s hotrod trends that have aged poorly, but whoever frenched these door handles into the side of this Camaro deserves an award for getting them so damn flush!
I couldn't find the owner to ask about it, but I guess the handle pops out to open the door 🤷🏽♂️ or maybe it acts as a button for an electric popper solenoid.

Many hours of wet sanding, gluing, clamping, sanding, spraying, sanding, spraying, gluing, sanding, spraying, sanding, polishing, buffing and gluing later..... My car has a center console again and it no longer looks like trash.
I didn't take a before shot, but it was in a similar state to this other piece of trim before I decided to take a shot at repairing it.

Car meets need more of this energy! Cosplay all the things!
In a dance known to car guys everywhere. When you spot a Roadrunner and make eye contact with the owner you must first demonstrate that you know the color is called "Sublime" and not "Speed Green". Once this foreplay has concluded, you may then ask "does it work?" And they will, in a manner not unlike the Manchurian candidate, become activated and will be unable to continue with normal human interactions until they have made their car go "meep meep!"
If you call it "Speed Green" you will instead only hear a lengthy diatribe on how they are the victim of slander and that Dodge owners are mean to them. :)

@mimblewimble@mastodon.social yeah, that's the idea. I sort fed the CA glue into the cracks and let it wick into the delaminated sections while clamping some delams that ran all the way to the edge. Allow it to cure then used files and aggressive abrasive to debulk any high spots and open up any bubbles then repeat the glueing again until everything had a contiguous surface without any cracks that were opening up when gently flexing the part.
Then a lot of "prep" sanding to a generally uniform surface with almost no epoxy/glue thickness above the weave.
From there it is basically a paint job with 2k clear starting with a tack coat and then about 4 wet coats with ample flash time between.
Left the clear to cure for a couple of days in a warm dry place and then lots of wet sanding, buffing and polishing; while being very careful to avoid burning through the clear. Lots of compound curves means that most of the sanding had to be done by hand so I could keep even pressure.
