Between my Xteink, iPhone, iPad and kobo. the Xteink is my favorite way of reading straight text books. If kobo made a hand sized reader I would be sorely tempted.

I've had some coworkers that seemed to sense when they were about to get fired and jumped ship a bit ahead of that. I wonder if Alan Dye had a feeling that he'd better get while the getting was good.
I don't think Apple execs had even thought about it yet, but if Dye was that good at office politics he probably figured it wouldn't be long now.

Why the hell does the ChargePoint app block access when you’re on a VPN? Are people abusing VPNs to look for car chargers?
@jackbrewster@hachyderm.io @lexfri@hachyderm.io technically not proprietary but it also isn’t USB-C. I’ve got a couple of 3rd party pogo adapters for mine (keep one with my travel Apple Watch charge adapter). I’m not sure a USB-C port would fit. I’ll have to compare my X3 to my X4.
The battery, even with light, does last forever.
The Qualcomm agreement with Apple sounds like it’s for licensing patents used in the C2 chips rather than an agreement to buy chips. I suspect the patent license has a significantly lower royalty than chips do.

@jackbrewster@hachyderm.io my doctor has an alternative where they take a super-high resolution photo of my eyes instead of dilating. Unfortunately my insurance doesn’t cover it but it’s worth the $50 extra to me. (Also they can keep a running record of my eyes and compare year-to-year)
I suspect the iPhone duo will have a crap ton of bugs initially but I want one so bad. Huge (literally and figuratively) upgrade from my current iPhone 13 mini.
