Just a reminder that supporting X means supporting Elon. Supporting Elon means funding his massive spending that actively and explicitly pushes hatred of and harm towards trans people. So supporting Elon means attacking my family. I do take it personally. It’s a direct line. https://truthout.org/articles/elon-musk-spends-100-million-on-anti-trans-ads-targeting-dems-in-midterm-races/

I never liked Harry Potter. Just not my thing. My family did, though. And then when JK revealed who she was, they all immediately noped out forevermore. Don’t support horrible people. It’s that easy. There’s enough other great art to enjoy.

This looks interesting. https://strategerygame.com

One of these was the answer I wanted.

Shout out to @macsparky@mastodon.social. “Be careful with this one.” https://www.macsparky.com/blog/2026/09/strategery-returns-to-iphone-and-ipad/

I know I’ve been releasing a lot of iOS apps because this sign made me do a double take. Iykyk.

Never hesitate to ask people the things you want to ask them. I procrastinated on asking Jeeves one final question, and now I never can.

I’m basically Swedish now.

It’s been a minute since I posted about this, but every time I do, I hear from someone whose life I think I help improve. So. About two minutes ago, I gave myself a shot. In this case, it was an injection into my right thigh. I prepped for the shot with an ice pack, a vibrating doohickey called Buzzy, anti bacterial hand gel, and alcohol swabs. When I finally gave myself the injection of Emgality, 30 minutes after removing it from the fridge, it burned like the fiery pits of hell. Oh my god, I can’t overstate how much it burns going into my leg, and how much I freaking hate taking the shot. But I also LOVE taking the shot. I was a lifelong migraine sufferer until 2020 when I finally caved and saw a neurologist, who helped me learn that the sun isn’t my only migraine trigger; working out is another one. And he also told me that while I reported headaches 4-5 days a week or more, that most people — if they weren’t sick or hungover — had ZERO headaches per year. That ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND. Anyway, he told me to start taking these shots. Actually, he started me on Ajovy. Ajovy worked great (and didn’t burn!), and it made my headaches and migraines a complete memory. It also made my hair fall out. I switched to Emgality, and Jesus Christ did I mention the burning? But it also a) eliminates the headaches and migraines and b) doesn’t make my hair fall out. I went from 10-20 migraines per year to 0. I went from taking ibuprofen ALL THE TIME — carrying it with me full time! — to taking it zero times per year. These medications changed my life. If you are a migraine sufferer, see a neurologist. Thank you for coming to my… Head Talk.

I never learned how to ride a bike. Do I buy a bike that’s for a tall guy like me and simply assume I’ll be able to figure it out? Do I instead try to first learn on my son’s bike, though my son is… eight inches shorter than I am?

My wife took my son to a Rush concert.

I made a /friends page because it seemed like a fun thing to do. https://lexfriedman.com/friends/ Please note that it randomizes the order on every page load because I'm not a monster.

My regular Planet Fitness is on its third day of being closed with no power so I went to a different one today. It’s a bit like traveling in England: all the signs are still in English, but everything feels very different.

Today we got off our ship at one port in Norway and will get back on in another. Allegedly. They may be punking us.

John asked Lauren if she ever watched TV while on the treadmill. Lauren said she had binged all of Friends on the treadmill, and took pride on that. John said, "So no one told you life was gonna be this way?" And I said: "Could you BE taking more steps?" John said "Well, that was a better joke than mine." Then he referenced it several more times in mock annoyance that I'd outjoked his joke. 😂

I made a joke during this podcast recording that John complimented repeatedly. It was cut from the final edit (because the tangent that led there was cut). Sometime soon I will reveal the joke.

Has anyone encountered — and more helpfully, fixed — the issue where your Mac refuses to deliver texts you send to an RCS contact, and messages only go through from your phone? In the screenshot, the first one's attempted from the Mac, the second one's from the iPhone.

My stress level about moving my kid out from college is: High. Loading zone usage in downtown Boston is highly regulated on move-out day, and one adult must be with the car at all times. Also, I can’t go into the building without my kid. So… can’t stay at the car (because then I’m not helping lug heavy things down), and can’t have them stay at the car (because then I can’t get into the building). Yay?

@agiletortoise@mastodon.social I use a third party CarPlay screen I’d just get comfortable with the feel of the drive and the on screen buttons

@flargh@mastodon.social hahaha. A plus.

U2 cover band name ideas.

@danedeasy@mastodon.world it’s a friend reference

@caseyliss@mastodon.social @mathowie@xoxo.zone this post doesn’t face any stiff competition

@gruber@mastodon.social truly incredible poll results

@Momomoto@kind.social genuinely don’t think he did!

Home sweet Newark.

@ender3@infosec.exchange @agiletortoise@mastodon.social I don’t do one that hooks into the Rivian screen. I use an aftermarket screen mounted on the top of the center console. CarFlix. The exact model I got is no longer available, but this looks basically identical. https://amzn.to/3R6W83A

Copenhagen is photogenic.

@Brendan@phpc.social entirely my fault! Should be fixed if you refresh within the app.
