It's still math running on ordinary classical computers, except built around different types of math problems that quantum computers are bad at solving (RSA and ECC can be broken by Shor's algorithm on a sufficiently big quantum computer)

@ikari@8bit.red @fj@mastodon.social to be precise it's similar to how we think classical computers aren't good at solving RSA, we don't know of any attack fast enough on classical computers and don't think one exists. With post quantum algorithms we haven't found attacks fast on either classical or quantum computers, and we don't think one exists. It's possible one might be found, but it's considered unlikely for several of the post quantum candidate algorithms

@ifilljustice@mastodon.social I've got some (fixable) concerns about the reliability of such posts from smaller instances that doesn't have the resources to put into security that Twitter has (had). There's stuff like cryptographic trusted timestamping that can be applied to posts including attached media to prove it was unchanged after posting, which makes it easier to defend the credibility of posts as they spread through the "fediverse".

Select the one you intended and it will be treated as a mention for them. You can also always mention people on other servers with the syntax @ username @ server.com
