These are the kind of people who I could picture working away at a laptop in a box truck and they tell you they're close to a breakthrough and then you get closer and the laptop isn't on, and hasn't been powered up for years.

Anyone know if, sitting in a closet somewhere, there are a bunch of frogdesign concept models designed for NeXT?
We've seen plenty of concepts that frogdesign made for Apple.
But with NeXT we've only seen the finished products.
Stouffer's french bread pizzas are just sad now.
They're smaller (I think), and the pepperoni ones have a desultory scattering of a few small pepperoni triangles. Far fewer than there were 40 years ago.

Got a letter from the IRS saying that my Mom had a refund coming and she needed to provide bank info that wasn't in her tax return (was expecting to owe). That required ID.me which hadn't been set up yet for her.
Well, my mom passed away in March, so it was impossible.

That said I could buy a 4k 15" LCD panel and controller board on aliexpress for a couple hundred dollars and have basically the same thing, and no lithium battery to explode.

Specifically I'm interested in trying a grayscale LCD as a portrait display for reading text.
I expect burn-in and backlight life to be an issue.
Anyone tried using a medical LCD as a monitor?
Especially a grayscale one.

There's a new (I guess) portable 13.5" color display (3000x2000) that is probably painfully expensive.
It uses Thunderbolt 4 or HDMI.
I guess regular graphics hardware caught up.
I'll have to keep that one in mind for when I win the lottery.
