@fj@mastodon.social we can do this again:

@HonkHase@chaos.social konstantin von Notz hat sich in die Richtung schon vor 5 Jahren geäußert und seitdem traue ich ihm auch nicht mehr

@Sustainable2050@mastodon.energy to be honest - I‘ve been following this from the sidelines in the UK for more than a few years and it has been bad for a long time. Getting arrested for bullshit reasons is not really news for the UK.

@bart@bnamed.social @bert_hubert@mastodon.nl @fj@mastodon.social If you want to be more alert - I recently looked into gTLDs and pretty much all of them are ultimately owned by one US company (Donuts Inc) - so look out for where your registry is - they might be subject to US law as well… https://mastodon.social/@jmovs/115833580549327499

@tante genuine question: How is this different from furniture from Ikea? Shoddy quality, probably good enough for most people while most people never have the ability to maintain or repair this furniture and yet more people have access to it than ever before?

@lina @kevinr tagging @rstockm as a librarian from Germany working quite actively with LLMs in the library context.

@tinker@infosec.exchange a threat scenario would be someone receives weird content on their work mail and google unceremoniously closes the whole community‘s google account.

@tinker@infosec.exchange depending on how hacker you want to go - you might be able to achieve what you want with a hetzner or an uberspace.de setup as well, in case you haven’t looked there yet.

@joesteel this reminds me of peak crypto when long island ice tea corp rebranded to Long Blockchain Corp. I think we’re pretty close to peak bubble now.

@bert_hubert@eupolicy.social @daedalus@eigenmagic.net maybe we should rebrand the „cloud“ as „MaaS“ - mainframe as a service?

@mattblaze@federate.social I‘m not sure if the German map maker „Falk“ ever made maps for the USA but they had the craziest folding pattern (patented! https://worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/search/family/000579455/publication/DE835219C?q=pn%3DDE835219)

@Sustainable2050 finally it pays off to use Firefox lol

@Daojoan great post! :)

@bert_hubert have you looked at the Bluetooth deep settings in accessibility? There are new options on increasing the volume in those since iPhone 8 times.

@marcoarment hey it‘s VW 2026! Will they announce a car afterall? 😆

@jon @Vivaldi it is only in so far green as the physical electrons are green but if the co2 certificates associated with it are traded in along Europe as is common, they might be used to greenwash coal electricity in Europe and actually have associated emissions. Does Vivaldi procure co2 emission free electrons in Iceland?

@kevinrothrock@infosec.exchange what is first about it? We had drones being shut down before

@Sustainable2050@mastodon.energy that is misreporting - they had already agreed roughly a year ago to lower this tax as they perceive it as too high in Europe to compete. Unrelated to the current shortage.

@Daojoan@mastodon.social yes - exact same as peak when Long Island Ice tea corp rebranded to Long Island blockchain.

@Daojoan@mastodon.social amazing article. But if I want to point someone to your writing - where to point them to? https://www.joanwestenberg.com/ ? Or somewhere else?

@simonbs@mastodon.social unleash this on @viticci@mastodon.macstories.net

@simonbs@mastodon.social sentiment reminds me of https://www.anildash.com/2026/03/27/endgame-open-web/

@keith@social.starkeith.net @erd@gei.st you forgot the tooth paste!
