It’s much harder to retort “it’s impossible” to the people who argue for a better world on rights-based or deontological grounds. Consequentialist arguments appeal to consequences are what allow this. Rights-based arguments appeal to justice and usually have much stronger evidence that the moral criteria they use will be satisfied by the changes they advocate.

@frrstbrwn@theatl.social not just exploited some people being exploited. In terms of property rights, workers get 0% of the positive and negative fruits of their labor. Economists are fully aware of this but try to obfuscate this fact. This violates the whole claimed basis of private property of people getting the fruits of their labor.
