Karl Popper's Paradox of Tolerance applies to RELIGION as much as it does to RACISM and FASCISM. You cannot believe in equal rights for all when your God prefers some people over others.

"The bible and the church
have been the greatest
stumbling block in the
way of women's
emancipation." ~ Elizabeth Cady Stanton
This was spoken by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a leading figure in the early women’s rights movement in the United States. Stanton made this statement to express her belief that religious institutions and biblical interpretations had historically been used to justify the subordination of women and hinder their progress toward equality.
Stanton argued that traditional Christian teachings, particularly those derived from the Bible, reinforced patriarchal structures by portraying women as morally weaker or subordinate to men. She believed that these religious narratives were central to maintaining gender inequality in society. Her most notable work reflecting this critique is The Woman’s Bible, published in two parts in 1895 and 1898, in which she and a group of women reinterpreted biblical stories from a feminist perspective.
One of her key reinterpretations involved the story of Eve in Genesis. While traditional theology blamed Eve for humanity’s fall, Stanton viewed her act of eating the forbidden fruit as a courageous pursuit of knowledge and autonomy. She also challenged the interpretation of woman being created from Adam’s rib, arguing it signified equality rather than inferiority.
Stanton’s views were controversial even within the suffrage movement. Many of her contemporaries, including some fellow suffragists, feared that openly criticizing religion would alienate supporters and damage the cause of women’s rights. As a result, she was marginalized by more mainstream factions of the movement.

Quick question?
Does #Atheism demand I have faith in nothing at all?
How is that different from demanding I have faith in one version of God? 🤔
Both extremes attempt to extract demands on the individual as part of their clique. How does #agnostic fit into all this?
Seeking honest reply.

"There are two things which make it impossible to believe that this world is the successful work of an all-wise, all-good, and, at the same time, all-powerful Being; firstly, the misery which abounds in it everywhere; and secondly, the obvious imperfection of its highest product, man, who is a burlesque of what he should be."
―Arthur Schopenhauer

If we have to pick sides, then I am definitely on the side of the Pope, and I am an atheist that thinks that there was a case for one of his predecessors to be investigated for crimes against humanity!

Seven books down for the year, so this manages to escape from the teetering tower that is my to be read pile (actually, most of them are crammed into a couple of Waterstones bags!)
