The Aurora from last night here in the North East of Scotland. Strong activity between 21:30 and 22:30 with the colours visible to the eye. A lot more reds and purples than I’ve seen for a while too #Aurora #Aberdeenshire #Scotland
Lochnagar and over to The Stuic yesterday. Still lots of snow in the corries. The ptarmigan are now pairing up and getting their spring coats whilst this mountain hare is still in its winter jacket #Lochnagar #CairngormsNP #Scotland
As the snow thins out on the higher slopes the Mountain Hares can get back up and have a bite to eat. Their summer coats are starting to appear just in time too. Yesterday near the summit of Creag Leacach #Cairngorms #Scotland
Some more from yesterday on Lochnagar in the Cairngorms National Park. Good numbers of ptarmigan to be seen (and heard!) with the snow now largely limited to the coires #Scotland #Cairngorms
There’s something about a Crescent Moon 🌙 - The moon at 22% illumination from last night in the North East of Scotland #Aberdeenshire #Scotland #Lunar
An overnighter on Wednesday at Loch Callater. Whistling sandpipers and waterfalls full of snow melt the only sounds on a calm clear night #CairngormsNP #Scotland
The rape seed is in full bloom here in the north east of Scotland at the moment. Here’s the International Space Station, and a few other satellites, flying over late last night #ISS #Scotland #Aberdeenshire
Fresh snowfall over the weekend adding depth and cover to the previous falls. On Glas Maol and Creag Leacach today in the Cairngorms National Park #Cairngorms #Scotland
Lochnagar today. Swirling clouds, stags growing new antlers, ptarmigan aplenty and coires full of snow #Lochnagar #CairngormsNP #Scotland
Some more from Friday from the Linn of Quoich and heading up to the hills. The Punchbowl, Braemar Castle, Red Deer and frog spawn - at 600m #CairngormsNP #Scotland
A temperature inversion over the north east of Scotland this morning. Hovering around 0C in the glens with blue skies above the clouds #Aberdeenshire #Scotland #Inversion #BrockenSpectre #DJI
I went out to try and get a look at the PANNSTARS comet this morning a couple of hours before the sun rose. Unfortunately a low bank of cloud blocked the view. Fortunately, there was a bit of Aurora activity #Aberdeenshire #Scotland #Aurora
There’s every chance that the red squirrels will have young in the dray by now. Here’s a young female visiting today #Aberdeenshire #Scotland
