mastodon 4.7.2Dad, network guy, trying to be a good human. By day I make computers talk to each other as a networking person, and in the evenings I tend to not put computers down either by poking at home infrastructure or video games.
When I do get away from the screens I do ham radio and I’m trying to do more hiking and camping. I want to start canoeing and fishing with my sons.
I speak for myself; not another group, my employer, or any association.
It never ceases to tickle my fancy at being able to console into my own server (In this case a thin client running OpenBSD).
I know it is mundane, and that the capability has been there since the very beginning of computing, but when I started out doing computers stuff the serial console was the mysterious domain of network equipment and special operating systems!
I am glad that understanding it a bit better has not stolen the wonder and joy from the thing.
Cool trick to make solar power work! Clever to use the RTC storage. @hackaday@hackaday.social
Don’t discourage the behavior you want to see.
I’m on my third instance. Just be glad they’re here. @CiaraNi@mastodon.green
