@fahrni It depends on the hardware and configuration. Windows does have its issues, but once you turn off its annoyances, it's pretty decent.

@imalcolm@mastodon.social We lived out in the country (New York state), and had a "party line" that we shared with several other households. Yes, people could listen in. Kinda awful. Got the first private line when we moved to Arizona in the late 1970s. Also our first push-button phone..it was a muted yellow and hung on the wall.

Was the knee replacement difficult to recover from?, I've heard that learning to walk with a replaced knee is quite challenging, at least for some people. For me, it's mostly my ankles and feet. My hands are sometimes stiff when I wake up. My left hand likes to drop things. Fun times.

@fahrni@curmudgeon.cafe Ha ha, experienced. I like that. 40 was terrible and depressing. 50 didn't bother me in the least. But this 60 stuff..ugh. Mentally, I feel late 30s. My body reminds me every day that late 30s are not only in the rear-view mirror, but back around some bend I will never see again.
