I posted a short blogpost on why I developed a custom web to print machine
Iko
Web developer - tabletop RPG designer/publisher
I made a little server that turns markdown folders into websites at runtime. No build. Just upload the folder, add css if you like, you got yourself a website. The idea is to turn a folder of notes into browsable pages.
If you’d like to test it shoot me a DM
I’ll run tests throughout May
Made a little test paginating html content procedurally, instead of relying on the browser.
Each html element is measured, then laid out on the web page, and paginated doing simple position+height mathematical checks
Goal is to increase speed in (and ultimately cache) in md -> html -> paginated content conversion for live edition
Renders 500-ish pages in 600ms
Stats in console log
Suburban Gothic Wildlife Bestiary
It's written for The Lost Bay which means it's statless
Wildlife: mostly non weird, non supernatural, mostly mortal beings
https://thelostbayrpg.com/bestiary/
Getting slowly to the completion of TLB manuscript
Now that I have a The Lost Bay RPG website, I'm down to make a webring of indie/self-hosted RPG/RPG-adjacent websites
Hit me up if you want to join
I published a little post about writing locations and environment entities as NPCs
Made an online mini Oracle, based on the Querents Guide To The Edgelands by Wren The Forrester
(extended) Arcana major only
Back from the deepest hd folder, a weird The Lost Bay + Liminal Horror audio mashup
Audio commissioned by @goblinarchives.itch.io 🖤
The Waterfront tables by myself (WIP)
In my city there are a lot of leftist community powered associations, groups, collectives, activists. They do an amazing work as social, cultural, political actors. With almost no exception their online presence is limited to and spread over the major social networks. And that despite they general distrust, to say the least, towards big corps. Almost none of them has a website. That’s an incredible contradiction I’ve been thinking a lot about. I’m not sure why this happens.
Salut tout le monde
Je cherche un hébergeur web basé en France
Vous rcommandez quoi ?
Update!
Moving toward two columns but one character per column
Need to world on the vertical flow
Thank you so much everyone for the feedback!

I've finished the V1 of The Traveller, one shot and a big chunk of The Lost Bay RPG, which kind of establishes as a baseline.
Lots of things to tweak, the baseline!, the NPC blocks, alignements etc, but I'll leave it for now, I'm moving on to the rules part of the book
Thread of screen shots
[EDITED] Added a simple memoization for page fragmentation, on second pass total render time goes down to 50ms for 500 pages. Haven't tested the memoization with a real partial content change yet though.
Tough day today, I could use some feedback.
Single or double column pages for NPCs?
@trovster@mastodon.social I love that despite its various evolutions php hasn’t abandoned its more simple core. Great initiative I’ll check into it
