@realGulDukat@mastodon.social well, it was fun while it lasted. This is actually the account that got me to bother moving to fedi, but I’m a hard no on AI slop.

@atomicbird@mastodon.social @benaar@mastodon.social @tjw@social.lol I still remember gas stations who just painted a 1 in front of their price displays on the pumps. Late 90’s took care of the last of that.

@maco ordered a shirt and a sticker. Let’s see how long it takes the boss to read it on my laptop.

@stefan I feel like this is an artifact from right as the timelines diverged. One from the good future.
@alice@lgbtqia.space in my case, I’m just an idiot who didn’t read.

@Oggie@woof.group @nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt I had one in my office for years. Haven’t been to that building in a while, but I should rescue it if it’s still there.

@Oggie@woof.group @nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt I’d very much like to hang out in the office you describe. I’ve wanted an old school TTY for similar reasons, but the old western union one I found was way too heavy to sneak out.
So we were told we had to use the LLM thing at work, and I’m taking the route of malicious compliance. So far it’s admitted it’s unreliable and sycophantic, and should never be trusted. So it’s calculating prime numbers while I tell it it’s not good enough.
@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk ordered!

/2 I should note I’ve tried doing a bit of research, and I feel like some of the users I supported in my helpdesk days. I’m confident enough to get a machine with the specs I need, and I’m capable, if not willing to do my own support, but I’m really hoping to find something actual humans recommend because they like the machines or the people who make them. #linux #LaptopRecommendation

@bryanredeagle@beige.party I’ve been looking at a thinkpad. It’s the route I think I’d go if I went with something from a major vendor. I’m a network engineer, so my requirements are terminal emulator mostly, but I do want to be able to play Workers and Resources via crossover/WINE for autism reasons.

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social out of curiosity, if some of them did bring particular joy, and I wanted to show my appreciation, can I pay in some way? Or is there something important to you I can contribute to somehow? That pascal poster was an absolute work of art.

@marcoarment@mastodon.social I’m not sure Microsoft is worth fixing, but if you’ve got change for $100, I might be able to scrap it and get my money back.
