what i miss in #grapheneos is tap top to scroll, especially with long #snac2 feed...
yes, there is an app for that, but i'd rather not add dependencies

@libreleah@mas.to first of all, thank you for your amazing work!
i'm new to coreboot/liberboot. do i understand correctly libreboot is not compatible with modern thinkpads like t14 gen 3 (intel core i5 1245u)? and only works with older thinkpads?

same here. a fleet of hundred smart devices is pain to manage.
when design my home next time, i'll make it as dumb and as flexible as possible (to be able to change pipes, wires, partition walls, etc)

why use #accrescent store if there is #obtainium on #grapheneos?
so many stores, it's confusing...
so many stores, it's confusing...
- app store, but only few apps
- accrescent, a few more outdated apps
- aurora store, frontend for play store
- fdroid store (i heard there are some issues with app signing...)
- play store (non-anonymous...)
- obtainium (install from git repo, hmmm)

a week ago i finished my migration to #grapheneos
good parts: can ssh into my phone and can fine-tune permissions
what i miss after using iphones for almost two decades: a smoothly working camera, a consistent user interface (including things like tap-to-scroll-to-top, password manager), reliable notification delivery, and airplay
what i had to give up (but wasn't too hard): face id, find my, airdrop, carplay, messages (imessage), safari, wallet
bonus: even though the screen size is nearly the same, the #pixel 10a feels bigger than my #iphone. naked, it's too slippery; in a case, it's bulky and still a bit slippery…
oh well,.. i guess that's the price you pay for having rsync on your phone ❤️

feels good to understand
edit: don't try it in your shell
:(){:|:&};: without having to look it up. when i saw it for the first time, around twenty years ago, it looked like complete gibberish to me...edit: don't try it in your shell

resolved an overheating issue on the #thinkpad that kept the fan running constantly. how? i simply lowered the room temperature by a few degrees. not too cold for me and not too hot for the laptop ❤️
the fan still kicks in under the load, but at least when cpu frequency is low, the fan is off

i'd been looking for a 65" panel to play my media on and i decided to go with a smart tv, using it as an hdmi display connected to my #openbsd machine.
then i discovered that openbsd doesn't support audio over hdmi and my openbsd server doesn't have analog audio output, obviously.
my tv had been connected to a stereo amplifier anyway, so my setup is actually even better now: a dedicated usb dac connected directly to the amplifier.

quickly tested #wayland with #sway on #openbsd:
browsers are 2-3% faster than in #xenocara
trackpad and trackpoint are not working as expected
whole setup a bit more complicated (starting from tty0, installing extra packages, extra line in fstab, etc)
for this week at least i'm switching back to good old #x11 and #cwm :)
