🪂 That was a nice day jumping, yesterday! 😊 Got the students in the air three times, so we can build on that. 🛩️ #Pilatus #Porter #PC6 is fun, and the views of the #Alps are stunning! 🤩 #skydive #skidiving #avgeek #aviation #nature #mountains #Fallschirmspringen #Berge #Natur
🐈⬛ Zzzzzzz... #Catstodon #Cativerse #CatsOfMastodon
🪂 Another fantastic day of #skydiving yesterday! 🏞️ My students made some progress... 🤙 aaaand I made my 800th jump! 🥳 #skydive #parachute #Fallschirmspringen #avgeek #aviation #Fallschirmsport #sports #Sport #ETHA #Altenstadt #Alps #nature #Natur

🥳 One month at the new job! 🛰️ And someone captured the exact feeling of my first day at @DLR@social.bund.de... including the original onboarding 😂 #ForAllMankind #NASA #space #Weltraum #SpaceFlight #Raumfahrt #science #Wissenschaft #climate #Klima #Earth #Erde #Moon #Mond #Mars #Beyond

@astro_jcm Unrelated but still funny when I think about that they use "Thumbs Up" into the camera instead of replying to CapCom by voice. (But rather related to "hands free" than to technical problems.)

🥳 Yay! 🪂 This is so much fun! 🤙 Videos just don't do it justice. 🤷 But here's one anyway. 🎞️ A full #helicopter jump from yesterday: "ingress" to "touchdown"! 🚁 #skydive #skydiving #parachute #Fallschirm #Fallschirmspringen #Fallschirmsport #sports #Sport #outdoors #Draußen #avgeek #aviation #Airbus #H125 #ETHA #Altenstadt #Alps #Alpen

@superbetsy I can relate to that sign. 🚲 No wheel was lost! The front wheel just turned 90 degrees because of the tram rail, with more force than the handlebar was tightened. I get that if it hasn't happened to you (yet), you might not recognize the sign. 😆

Replying to
Replying to

@ZombieGopher@gamepad.club @sundogplanets@mastodon.social Would have opened up the possibility for a nice headline, like: 🗞️ "Hundreds of moons spoiling the night sky for astronomer" 😅
🚁 It's Heli-Boogie at #Skydive #Altenstadt today! 🥳 First, some round trips, then: jumping! 🪂 #avgeek #aviation #ETHA #Fallschirmspringen #skydiving #helicopter #Hubschrauber #Alps #Alpen #Berge #mountains

@datGestruepp@mastodon.art Ach was: "schlecht gezeichnet"... die stehen halt etwas unter Strom 🫨

@alter_kaker@hachyderm.io @ninawillburger@social.anoxinon.de Well, perhaps that replica isn't made the same way, with the same tools and materials. It kinda looks like CNC'ed aluminum. 😆

@FUrsprung @dlr_next Genau!

Replying to
@AlexSanterne I don't think agree with number 3.
I haven't seen the new movie yet, but after one of the others I really wanted to walk barefoot on trees. 😂
Replying to
@alter_kaker@hachyderm.io @ninawillburger@social.anoxinon.de Yeah, blade will probably be forged. But the bottom part... I don't know: did they have means to kind of "grind" metal after forging/casting? Some "sandpaper" style rocks or ceramic?
Or perhaps the replica is misleading...
Replying to
@ninawillburger@social.anoxinon.de Not that I know anything, but (or because of that) I'm surprised. 😮
Do you know how the Romans did the metal part? Iron? Is it forged or cast?
