@Geri@veganism.social @Captain_Jack_Sparrow@mastodon.world my niece already was expressing better politics than me when she was 4 so, pretty absurd to make her wait another 14 years to vote, and it not like the decisions made in parliament didn't impact her. not the point though. the point is are people able to offer clear and unequivocal, full throated support for a candidate, standing in a two horse race against a fascist. or are they thinking oh well mmm, maybe i can find some way to support the fascist without making myself look bad by suggesting people shouldn't vote for the non-fascist candidate. that's the issue here isn't it jack.

@Black_Flag@beige.party 100% I've been trying to get people to say "government name" instead of "real name" I note most languages I've studied have two registers for introducing yourself: "my [government] name is" for cops and other officials and "people call me" for normal people/everyone else/for talking about the name you want to be known as (i.e. your real "real name") I'd like people to adopt this in English.
