@TeflonTrout@beige.party Otherwise @newsguyusa@flipboard.social looks like an intelligent person but this is beyond stupid. The source of the illustration entirely erases the power of the story.

@afewbugs @nlupo @Natasha_Jay I did someting similar during art school, but not on purpose. I did not want to spraypaint that cardboard man in my room so I went to a silent corner of the parking lot. The life-size outlines of the man remained there for years, and many people wondered which gruesome crime had happened there.

@actinomy@systerserver.town @ankedesign@mastodon.social I am nudging my friends at the Dutch Longfonds (lung health foundation) to host (some of) their next anti-vaping campaign on a recycled vape-server to get extra attention in the geek community.

@db @stefanfrede For smaller projects, sticking with what you know can be an effective choice. Doing this too often may or may not result in technological debt but will always leave you with knowledge debt (if that's correct English) in the long run.

@kevinpowell You may be interested in this feature in Statamic CMS https://statamic.dev/variables/focus (similar things are probably in others but I only use 3 CMSs)

@yschaeff@fosstodon.org Dutch customs often check incoming banana shipments, not sure if they are after hidden messages.

@behdad I don't think Variable Fonts could have been adopted much faster in practice. Designers are more conservative than you think and don't forget that many corporate identities date back to before 2015.
BTW where can I find more info on the variable-composites thing? I had never heard of it tbh.
